A Covenant Of Gods

I had this idea for about a week now. Had my doubts whether or not it would overlap with "Pantheon of Gods" as used by the admins, but after messaging Emergence with the rough idea, I think it doesn't. If it for some reason still does, however, I will stop working on this immediately.

The rough lore aspect behind it:

The Lords have died. Of Gwynevere remains but an illusion, Gwyn was burnt to ashes, Gwyndolin and Velka alone remain as true deities yet one is but a shadow of the power a God would have possessed, the other apparently vanished into myth.
With the world at the brink of the Age of Dark, a new force had to be awakened to save the world.
New Gods had to be born. Yet, who would ever be able to give birth to Gods?

This group of undead perceive their ability to be reborn as a piece of immortality. They believe that they are the new Gods, that they saw through the lies of the Serpents and now realise their one true fate: to walk a path no one else did before them and truly succeed the Gods. Not to replace them, not to become fuel for the Flame, but to become Gods themselves. To unite Lordran under their rule.


Yeah, that was the rough idea. This Covenant would heavily focus on Blade of the Dark Moon, but other Covenants, provided you can implement it into the character's story, are also allowed, except for Darkwraith as they scorn the Serpents (it is allowed to "use" them though). Thought about putting SL200 as the ideal for all characters for the Covenant (we'd HAVE to be godlike ), but not entirely sure about that.

Character Creation would be relatively free. You know how it is: we have an Allfather of Gods, God of War, God of Harvest, and so on. Be creative! You would pick your God, pick armour and weaponry/casts that go well with the theme of the God and roleplay as that character. Only one each would be allowed (can't have two Gods of War waging war against each other), cosplaying the "old" Gods wouldn't count. If the God of your choice is taken, then you can work around that. There are so many things where there could be Gods. Just look at the Shintoist Kami: there is an unlimited amount of them. There's no boundaries as to what you may be. You may even be the God of the Abyss. There's no code of honour or whatsoever, act according to what you God would be. But remember: no matter what, we are on the same side.

If this is against the Lore of existing active Covenants, do tell me.

So... is anyone here interested? If enough are and this is not against the lore of existing Covenants, I'll go ahead and make this one an actual Covenant. Help with it would be very appreciated then.

Yeah anyways it's a different lore idea to pretty much everything out there. You're probably the only cov to try and integrate outside the souls lore (other than the gremlins )

I think this is a really interesting idea and would like to help out or join if you decide to run with this covenant. I play on Xbox and my GT is in my signature. I am working on a character who is really low level and would fit perfectly as a god of wisdom or intelligence. Feel free to message me on here or on Xbox.

I find for Dorkmoons SL120-130 is a good place to be, you can host most any of the pvp hot spots and invade at your leisure. (For example on my NG++ I don't kill Taurus or Manus or Gwyn so while I'm human and trying to invade the guilty I often get invaded myself and get a fight without having to wait forever)

I'd make a god if it were to become a thing. If you do decide on SL 200 we could use the Arena for events and such, and if that were the case I'd want first crack at the God of protection and intervention, as I've been working on a build specifically for Team battle situations.

I like the idea of going to SL200, but I generally prefer to be around SL125. When getting higher then that it becomes easier to include more into builds rather than specializing. Either way I would be fine, I just want dibs on the god of wisdom or intelligence as I have a build in the works that I am extremely excited about.

I've had a couple ideas for Gods, but I'll first wait what else people want before settling on my own. And of course you're allowed calling first dibs. First come, first serve.

I too prefer 125 over either 100 or 200, as 100 sometimes is TOO low (though there are builds which work only on that or lower sl) and the variety of possible builds on sl200 is much vaster and, to be fair, more "god-like". When I tried sl200 out lately in Township, it didn't even seem all too dead. Had two phantoms for the way down, saw at least 5 more signs and got a couple invasions on the way to Manus.


Say Jan, does your build include being a Princess Guard with Bountiful and Soothing Sunlight?
Had one like that in the arena for quite a while. It sure had troll factor in team and deathmatch mode. ^^

I'm only on PS3, but won't exclude XBOX or PC players because of that. Maybe if we would get enough members, we could open several "sets" of gods for each used console. We'll see how this goes. Either way, rules won't be tight at all. A set sl, the common forum etiquette and the statement we're all allies in the cov might just be the "strictest" restrictions this covenant ever gets.

Can't argue with that. It still gives enough variety for players to be creative and fit their playstyle and equipment to the god they represent.

Yeah the build uses Soothing Sunlight, it's surprisingly effective at killing people. 50 faith Crowned WoGs hurt, and if I get the stunstab follow up most don't survive enough to stand up again. It also has insane dps potential from 50faith SLB on various fast swinging dex weapons.

Sounds like a valid troll build.

If possible, try to somehow match your armour to the theme of the god(dess) you're choosing. It's generally up to you how you play, but have an image in mind, if possible. Sure, everyone depicts everything differently, but well, that's what I would say. Surely you'll find possibilities there.

This is the build I was thinking about with regards to a god of wisdom or intelligence build. I decided to incorporate pyromancy with the idea that a god of wisdom would be interested in fire and manipulating it to learn about it. I didn't know how in depth you wanted the character to be so I came up with an outline for it and a decent story. So if this is an idea you're going to run with I'm ready whenever you are good sir and noble scholar.

Thanks for the input (and advertisement xD) Hugh, but well, I doubt you'll be the only one ending up wearing some gold. Except everyone wants to be something like a God of the Abyss. ^^

And Eko, that build looks pretty good. And the more depth, the better! I'm a writer, myself, so of course I want to see you folks being creative. Even if I'm gonna read little stories... not only wouldn't I mind, I'd love reading it.

Well if you decide to actually make this covenant then I will type out the full thing and post it on here.

I love this idea, count me in. I'll be a sort of "God of Winds", using force and all it's variants. Hope this actually gets made

Well, it didn't seem to spark as much interest as I had hoped. However, thank you all for your input.

However, I'm on an unpredicted hiatus now, so if anyone else can actually make it, write a proper lore for it and start running the covenant, I'm game and will gladly join upon my return (didn't want to be the highest member in the covenant either way).
