Not to confuse anyone, I mean the dead skeletons that are dead, dead. The ones you find in the Tombs, on the ground. Would edit, but iPod annoying.

And the skeletons of the Tombs? Their heads and body structures are similar to that of an animal, and has resemblance to the dragon skull in ash lake. The corpses in the tombs could be the dragons themselves, without their dragon form.
I'm sorry but I'm pretty sure the Dragons from the Age of Ancients were actually dragons with no other forms. The stone that the Path of the Dragon gives you is specifically to turn you into a Dragon nor something the dragons themselves made use of.
Anywho nice theory on the Tomb of the Giants being a resting place, and a way for the lords to ensure the dragons never come back to life.
