Isn't poise meant to represent the hardiness of armour's ability to shrug off certain attacks. Full suits of plate mail would have swords glance and ricochet off them. Seems a good system and one I'd like to have back. Also it adds an element of sacrifice vs mobility. My only gripe is that the wolf ring is pretty high in poise but that's for another thread.

I like the revised look of the "critical from behind attacks" they showed (they're not all backstabs after all so why do we call them that?)
I can't listen to the audio (at work)...did they state if the new classes were intended to be more tied into the character permanently (like older RPGs....a mage stayed a mage) or is it just more dramatic starting tendencies?

What is so irrevocably bad about Poise that it warrants a complete elimination? If you played Demon Souls you'd know that armor as nowhere near as important than in Dark Souls. Sure, Dark Souls could have done a few things better with regards to breakpoints and, more importantly, the sacrifices required to get high poise (FaP and Wolf Ring kind of ruined it).

~Shockwave upon arrow hit and poor bow and ranged weapons handling.
~Projectile speed, of all kind.
~Strange character movement, most notably sliding on the floor when the character walks.
~Little info about online. Human - Soul/Hollow form system in particular.

Thought those classes looked really good, dual swordsman starter was obviously awesome. I really liked how the magic looked, especially that spell sword attack(which I think it's really cool they might be incorporating the catalyst more). I'm wondering if they're ditching pyro class? Wish we got see the miracles, but glad it sounds like faith is back to being mainly a support/heal based warrior. The armor also looked amazing. Pretty hyped, this looks great. Not too worried about the new director anymore.

I'm not sure how you can hate on poise; even WITH it, the lighter builds won out over heavier ones often enough in competitive play. How many people are willing to fat roll? The only real issue there is how relatively easy it was at PvP levels to attain fast rolling with high poise.
If you want balance between weapon types and armors, some form of poise is a good thing for the game, not a bad thing.

It does not seem as if the player character blocked it, but as dibs said there is a loss of stamina. Probably successful block.

The weapons look slower, but the dodge looks almost the same speed. Can't say I like that, if its true anyways.
The crit animation is stupid.
The magic looks good though, I want a lightsaber.
