Chaos and it's connection to humanity.

We all know that chaos weapon scales with humanity, is there any ideas or information about the cause of this?

My idea is that perhaps humanity is related to chaos, in the same way the first flame is, it feeds the fire. The more humanity you have, the more you can feed the weapons fire, and the hotter it get's.

I am sorry if this thread has been made before.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't the flames of Chaos borne out of the Witch of Izalith's attempt at recreating the First Flame? If so, it might help to explain why both bonfires and Chaos weapons are fueled in power by Humanity.

But didn't she try to recreate it using a soul?

I'm just shooting out random thoughts, but perhaps her plan was to create a Fire Keeper's Soul out of that Lord's Soul and go from there. Her failure might indicate that she failed to properly fuse the soul with the infinite Humanity, characteristic of Fire Keeper's Souls, leaving the soul in a strange Humanity-starved state.

She DID try to use a soul. Her lord soul. Using humanity (which she didn't do) would have a similar effect as humanity is basically a soul fragment. Anyways chaos powered by humanity seems quite likely to me.

Actually Kindling has some connection here - the bonfires burn brighter if fed humanity. Same with chaos flame and it's inherent response to humanity... plus they both possess much of the same characteristics - see Manus, a primordial human warped by humanity, and Izalith demons, warped by the Flame of Chaos.

No reason to think that the Witch did not use Humanity.

Anyway, interesting note is that Chaos weapons are referred to as Demon weapons (ember desc). Odd.

Well seeing as the bed of chaos is the creator of demons itself, that makes sense. It seems as though a weapon upgraded with a regular fire path is of regular pyromancy that we see and use, however chaos of, well chaos. It seems that chaos weapons are that way because they are fused with the same magic that we see the bed of chaos use or 'fully corrupted magic' since pyromancy is a devolved form of a different magic.

Why it scales with humanity may be because of the demon magic that the BoC uses too.

Worth noting as we'll is that you have to give humanity in the chaos covenant to rank up. Its a similar quality to the bonfires/first flame, humanity is needed to strengthen both. The witch of Izalith was trying to recreate the first flame so there are bound to be similarities.

 I always thought that was because you donated it to the Fair Lady, in order to help her recover.

The fair lady is more than half chaos(spider) along with being a firekeeper, using humanity to heal her seems only natural.
