So, I just beat the Taurus demon on my first playthrough. Good times, I guess, but for one minor problem. While searching the area around the campfire when I got back to it, I found the Undead Merchant.
Well, I only found out he was a merchant after I accidentally stabbed him and looked up what I had done on the wiki.
I really didn't mean to. I went back to the campfire to rest there, to see if that would reset him... not so much. I ended up killing him in self defense. And now I find that he's the only vendor of repair powder?
*ugh*
First off, is there any way to 'de-aggro' NPCs? It's just way too easy to accidentally stab them, especially since they don't call THAT much attention to themselves amidst all the less friendly undead.
Second, how problematic is this? I'm not that far into the game, and I now have a better understanding of it so it wouldn't be a terrible time to start a new character. Bear in mind, I didn't purchase items off him, then kill him when he had served his purpose. I just killed him, no purchases. Whoops >_>
Anyway, thoughts on that would be appreciated. Also, since you're here, what are the benefits for being in human form? 1 humanity that is wasted at death is a bit expensive, and the only use I've seen so far is to kindle the fire.
