I probably won't since I won't have time to play for about 2-3 months at that point, so I'll be waiting for the steam sale. How about you guys? If you plan to buy it on day 1, why? If you plan to wait, why?

I plan on preordering it. Unless they say or suggest it will head to next gen systems at a later time. And maybe even still preorder. They might have an upgrade to the next gen mechanism built in (small fee likely).
Why? I want it day one

I also plan on preordering it. As of now, I have a lot of things I will have to spend money on, and preordering this game, though, isn't really high on the list.

I don't care what's going on in my life, I'm going to play the **** out of this game on day 1.

Yeh, more or less im going to buy it like I did with Dark Souls. Buy one disc on release day, then buy it again on the xbox when its cheaper, than buy any new versions of it such as DLC or PS4.

Of course. I want to play through it before any of the patches.

It depends heavily for me upon time factor. March is an ok time of release, but I might have some exams around then.. Might even have to wait till summer play it.. Hoping pretty strongly that won't be the case!

Yes, day one on PC.
Why: No wiki, no help in a forum, no hacker, no patch to make it easier (sissies!)
I fear, that the hackers are the first in this list who will change my wish to play it with the best gfx
After i'm ready with PvE first or second run i'll change to PS3 Version. Why? Nicest and biggest Demons/Dark Souls online community and not so much hacker as on the other platforms.

Pre-ordering is always a naive course of action at best.

Yes day one for me. All ready have it preordered even. I'm not big on preorders but this is one game I had to do it for. Though March really isn't the best for me to actually play it for long durations of time, I can at least give an hour or so a day to enjoy it.

I'm not going to pre-order it, I intend to just waltz into the store Day 1 and just grab a copy.

Where did you pre-order it? I looked on DkSII's website, but I couldn't find a PC preorder.Argetlam350 wrote:Yes day one for me. All ready have it preordered even. A lot of RPG's (and other games) that I've bought within the last couple of years have had pretty horrible (and inexcusable really ... ) issues at launch. Dark Souls at console release had some pretty bad glitches and some major features (like multiplayer) that did not function at all.sinspaw wrote:Do explain.Onion Knight wrote:Pre-ordering is always a naive course of action at best.

I think you are remembering it slightly wrong. Dark Souls had a pretty good release, without any major glitches with the exception of the BB and the Dragon head one, which took months to find not days. There was absolutely no problem whatsoever playing in the first days of Dark Souls, even the resonance worked.

Preorder here, and I will be taking the next day after delivery off from work.

This was true of the PS3 version, but Xbox had a much rockier start. Summoning was a mess, with failure after failure. I switched to PS3 after a couple of days, and only returned to Xbox with my friends after the patch. Since then it's been fine.sinspaw wrote:I think you are remembering it slightly wrong. I plan to hunker down with this game for a long stretch at launch. No rushing....absorb it all.

'I didn't have a problem so nobody else had one.' Mulitplayer barely function on both platforms. Period. Their netcode sucked beyond belief. As for the glitches ... have a look at these patch notes ...sinspaw wrote:I think you are remembering it slightly wrong. I'm waiting to see if some kind of collectors edition will be for sale. If not, I'll definitely pre-order it. I'm assuming that I'll just have to order it from their website if it does have some sort of special edition?

Not everyone plays just for the multiplayer. There will still be an amazing single player experience even if the invasion/summoning system is completely broken.Onion Knight wrote:'I didn't have a problem so nobody else had one.' That being said, pre-ordering is far from naive.

First of all, what's with the passive aggressive tone? And on that note, why call every souls lover that wants to play on day one "naive" ? Who even are you to state something like that? From my personal experience, games I'm psyched for I pre order and on average, the experience is good.Onion Knight wrote:'I didn't have a problem so nobody else had one.' Either way, I find it truly ironic that what you accuse me of having is exactly what you are doing. I, like plenty of other people, had a good experience from day 1. Yes, most summonings failed, but I still managed to get Co op going and I also got invaded a couple of times. Not only this but, even if glitches exist, that doesn't mean every single person encounters it. In fact, I'd imagine statistically speaking most players don't encounter glitches. So, just because YOU had a bad experience from the beginning (which by the way, how did you even have such an experience? I assume you didn't play on day 1 what with your own opinion of doing that being for the "naive", or were you naive yourself?) that doesn't mean other people did.
Now, can you pace yourself so we can all have a civilized discussion, or are you going to keep it up with the tone?

Let's all keep it cool, cats.
Day one purchases of anything run the risk of errors, glitches and problems but it's a risk some of us are willing to take.

Pre-Order, especially if there are pre-order bonuses.
I'd like to experience the communal discovery since by the time I got into the series everyone (on gamefaqs) just told you to 'git gut' or called you a scrub.

not too bothered about glitches, errors etc as the excitement will be too much to bear, so day one for me. . .which means days two and three off work. . I cant get a moments peace at night with the missus bugging me all the time, 'would you like a brew?', 'steak or lobster hun?', 'have you got the key for these?' etc etc. . .so some quality, unbroken time with DS2 is needed. . .

Pre-order. With a Collector's Edition, if they release one.
