Original Language

Ok maybe people have already talked about this but I just realised the Fair Lady can't speak the players language. I also just realised that if you try to make your character old their skin turns pale white just like the Fair Lady. But if you have the old witches ring we find out she can speak but presumably it's an ancient language. 

So with this in mind is it possible that this is the reason Nito doesn't talke to us? Maybe he never learnt English and didn't think it was worth his time as he is a Lord and we're lowly humans that he almost never interacts with. Same goes for the sister guarding the BoC as she possibly never left the area to learn the human language although she could also have simply hollowed.

Whereas I'm not entirely sure that it's English they're speaking, Common tongue perhaps. As for her inability to speak, or more accurately for you to understand her words without the ring, I think it's more of a matter of her voice is on a different level of hearing, not so much a different language. Perhaps not so much telepathic, but a different pitch. I don't recall it ever saying that her lips were moving and you just couldn't understand it, but more than it's just ...? Maybe she doesn't understand your workspeak without it because you're speaking on a different pitch. It's something I've wondered about often.

It's true, just last month we were discussing the amount of nutrients an undead is filled with.

Also, yes it appears that originally there was a language before English that the other NPC's use within the game. Seeing as the person that uses this language was one of the Chaos Sisters it's probably one of the original languages used during the war against the dragons. Then after a more developed language probably came along and the old language was tossed aside.
