The solution: pull out the shotel and turtle right back. Keep your shield up the whole time, stay defensive and then throw out a one handed R2 every once in a while. Easy win and they get to see how frustrating their tactic is.

Turtle tip
So up until about 5 minutes ago I would always have trouble with turtles. The guys who have their shield up the whole time and do an R1 every once in a while. Hard to parry em, hard to backstab em. Usually I'd grab the shotel and get aggressive, but half the time I would still die since the R2 is so easy to dodge. Or I'd try to get right up close so the range on the shotel hit them during the dodge, and then get backstabbed.

Re: Turtle tip
What i do against a person i know is turtling i try to poison them with a bow or i poise bs them, dead angling works well against turtles to but shotel is the easiest way to deal with them

Re: Turtle tip
Good turtles know how to not be BSed and know how to use their spear's reach to keep a shotel at bay. I'd rather fight gankers all day than to face off against a good turtler.
I have so much better things to do with my time than to spend 10 minutes on a boring tedious fight.

Re: Turtle tip
When i'm up against a turtle and the fight is getting boring, I'll usually just stand there and stare at them. Of course they will keep turtling and i will play with them and dodge all their attacks. Sometimes they'll realize they're a boring idiot, sometimes they do not.

The easiest way to take out a turtle is play the waiting game and mess around with them.

Meh, I tend to just pull out a gold tracer. It turns it into a quick fight that no one enjoys... but at least it's over... regardless who wins.

Reim is definitely correct but most turtlers aren't this good.reim0027 wrote:Good turtles know how to not be BSed and know how to use their spear's reach to keep a shotel at bay. I'd rather fight gankers all day than to face off against a good turtler.

Chain BS them as a punishment for being boring players (this is easier without hornet ring).

Re: Turtle tip
Be careful with the GT if they have a medium shield that can parry. After spending a lot of time in the forest, I'm fairly decent at parrying a GT R1 spam (and I assume others are as well).

Re: Turtle tip
I'm for on a good turtle, me being one helps me fight others when im not since i have an idea how to play i will scout out what there moves are going be during the fight and look to see if i can dead angle or poise bs etc....
U basically have to play around and wait n wait all day for an opening, Which can be boring but worth XD

Re: Turtle tip
Whenever I encounter a turtle, since I am not the best at dead angles, I will simply rush them and continue the attack until their guard breaks and when they roll away after wards they usually do a very stupid evasive maneuver which ends up getting them bs. Thankfully I've never had the pleasure of meeting what most would call a 'Skilled Turtle' so this tactic tends to work out pretty well

Re: Turtle tip
dead angle with a spell or heavy weapon, even force will do the trick, and then bs them while they're stunned. using the zweih as my example, you'll deal 1500 ish damage unbuffed and without the hornet ring.

Re: Turtle tip
It does take skill to be a good turtle. But a good turtle is one of the most annoying player to fight, hence the animosity.

Re: Turtle tip
Turtle-pokers are annoying, indeed. Kick, stun, or use shield negating weap or trick.
Other then that even turtles gotta leave themselves open at various times. So, no big deal as far as I'm concerned.

Re: Turtle tip
It looks like i'm alone with this, but i find turtles interesting to fight. When i'm using a dex or quality weapon at least. With str weapons they are a pain. Turtles are interesting to fight because i know so many counters against them but i have to try and decide which one of them to use and when. Should i go for a running bs? Am i close enough to parry? Can i dead angle with this weapon? And so on.
But i very rarely encounter turtlers. And the majority i do are not very good at it. So, if you ever invade me or i invade you, don't avoid shield pokes simply to be nice. I don't mind at all.
