    Question One: What is the difference between Divine and Occult weapons?

    Question Two: Which is better the SLB or the DMB, for a faith build?

    1; not much, divine kills the skeletons in the catacombs but neither are any good untill 45+ faith.

    2; Dmb does more damage but you can only have 1 cast and its easier to defend against. SLB hurts a touch less but multiple casts can be attuned and lightning is much tougher to defend against. Neither is really better but slb is more versitile.

    I'm not sure if SLB adds lighting damage, I thought it adds magic damage. But it looks like lighting. A good way to test it it's attack the same guy with both enchantments (one at a time), while the guy uses a shield with the same resistance to both elements but 100% physical (or same physical).

    Pretty sure you can just see it in the stats screen. SLB = Lightning, CMW & DMB = Magic

    Another answer to your first question, there is a theory though it has not been proven, that being an invader makes you 'occult' and being the host 'divine' and using respected weapons, invader using occult, you would do additional damage to your enemy.

    Occult scales better with Dex, Divine better with strength. So choosing the occult path is a nice bonus for the Dex characters. Other than that, there's not to much of a difference.

    I don't know where I read it, but I'm pretty sure this has been disproved. It may have been Carphil or Strangejoy, don't remember for sure, who tested it. Occult doesn't do more damage to hosts or invaders.

    Edit:

    But it's supposed to do more damage against bosses though. Don't know if this has been tested.

    I believe a few people tested

    I made a Divine Claymore +9 and a Occult Claymore +5 with 30 faith to test it. Went to forest and used cracked orb to invade while also being invaded by forest guys. No damage change as host or invader

    For a FAITH build you want to make occult weapons. The only reason to make divine would be to kill skeletons in the catacombs.

    About the buffs, you can have both. First kill Gwyndolin, get SLB then join Darkmoon on the second playthrough.

    If you want just one, I'd get SLB because you dont have to be a sunbro to use it and dont have to waste time grinding for rank up because the power wont change.

    To keep the skeletons down on the ground, while there is a necromancer in the area. You can still kill them. Not much of a benefit, really.

    Occult is cooler too. Which is super important and totally makes you fight better.
