Reim0027 - we are honored to fight along beside you as we rid the forest of the trespassers. There should many among the campers with the stench of sin upon them - I am sure you will get to quench your thirst for justice to your heart's content. I have seen your name on other areas of the forum and have been waiting to see when you would add your blade to our cause.
Again, welcome you are among brothers in this endeavor.

If you're unused to Forest Combat that's understandable, it's kind of like me with duels. I kill almost every farming group I come across, and in FC I lose like 99% of my duels. It's a different type of combat, so it's easy to be unused to it.

I wasn't being serious (as usual ) however I agree they are different in mentality. I feel that I should be able to kill a few guys at the very least, but winning is unlikely since I dont really make builds tricked up to work against gankers (I'm not even gonna have a shield, lol )

Thanks for the welcome guys.
Tolvo, I'm the opposite. I win a decent amount of fights in duels. But with random invasions or in the forest, I lose most of them.

I only carry a shield for the stamina regen, other than that I don't care for shields at all. I'm two handing unless I'm going for a riposte.

okay then, i have no shield and cannot parry either
this guys using Dragon slayer spear offhand, it's fun as hell, intimidating with a bright blue sword next to it, and pretty efficient.
However it's different against gankers. We'll see how we all fair on saturday

I say DM so you can at least have a change of scenery once in a while, instead of losing your sanity to the forest like some I know

I come bearing excellent news: The Beolseth λαryl, or 'The Blood Hunters' in English, have held council this afternoon. They have decided to join this endeavor. With the Beolseth λαryl, we gain an even 250 DWs to the numbers we had already. These players are pros of the pros when it comes to the Life-hunt. The only reason I am not a part of them is because I am a DM. Also, 4 DMs, 3 GLs, and 9 FHs have joined.
In addition, with the Beolseth λαryl joining, the Keptras Æn Genlibras, 'Keepers of the Groves', begin to stir. I am sure they will hold a council in the next few days to decide if they will join or not.

ultraflame22 - you continue to amaze me with your recruitment efforts for the mass invasion. We are honored to receive this additional cohort (well a little bit larger than a cohort I think) of shock troops.
Again, you have really impressed us all with number of troops you will be leading to battle in the fulfillment of Alvina's wishes.

I ran into 2 of the cheapest hosts last night. I was testing out my FH Black Phantom thief and everytime I spawned one of the fools would run up the stair case while the other cast TWoP. They did it to me 7 times in a row. I could not help myself and I called them cheap beaches and he said he was having fun.
I told him that I hope he was around on saturday and he said something to the effect that he does not make the game his life?? huh? Maybe it is against his religion to play on saturdays hehe.
I told him that he and his buddy are the best!

Yeah - the cheapness of campers never cease to amaze me. I did a some invading this morning (I love fighting Europeans) and all I was getting was bang after bang. I will say poetic justice is a "dish best served cold" - I was able to kill a camper and his minion using the environment. Lets just say the phantom thought he had enough HP to survive a jump while the host became food for our many headed friend.
These kinda campers deserve no respect or honor from my stand point. Kill'em any way you can and let Gwyndolin sort'em out.
T minus 1 day til jump off!!!

I'll probably die a lot on Sat. But, it'll be fun, when I land a parry. Unless they are Vit-gouged, I may be able to OHK them. Hornets, 50 Faith DMB +3, estoc packs a punch. I may even go Rapier on occasion.
Last night, I was invaded in the garden. The invader didn't let me buff my estoc. I bet he was surprised when I parried his SLB washing pole and took off all but 100 HP. This was at level 141. Seeing that kind of power makes me feel good.
I was also in ToG (getting my WoG), and took out the hollowed guards trapping what's-her-face. I parried one of them for over 2k in damage.

Reim, who knows, if the volume of invaders is high enough you and me might not die so much since the hosts will be constantly on their heels.
For example, last night this other host who was 1 vs 1 but would not let you set (would run up the stairs as you spawn). I managed to have him chase me all the way up to the clearing. ( how do these guys manage to keep the FH from attacking them and still get invaded?)
I had not buffed my bandit knife with pine resin nor did I put on power within. Once I had him in the open I BS 5 times. The only thing that saved him was WoG which he had at least 6. That would make me back up far enough for him to estus.
If another invader would have joined he would have been put down.

If you can parry reim you'll beat a lot of hosts/phantoms. I saw my first person from the forums last night in the forest and his parrying skill took out the host in no time. I invaded a guy I had taken out before 1v1 but for some reason there was a lot of lag in this fight. I won't try to say I would have won for sure without lag because I never owned the guy before but the lag was crazy. I took a swing when I saw him open and took two invisible hits.....stunlocked and done. In comes Pargar and jacks the dude up in seconds. Was pretty awexome. Big shout out to Pargar this fine morning. Hope to see you Saturday if you read this.

Shields can be helpful in the forest due to the often high lag that can make relying solely on dodging a game of chance. I carry a magic warrior's shield +10 for the 84.5% magic resist, for when I run into mage/MLGS builds. It only weighs 1.0 compared to 3.0 for the crest shield, so it is easily portable on any build. Another pretty good one is a fire target shield +10, particularly for reverse BS parries and chaos kat spammers. That's only 2.0 weight, so I often pack both shields and toggle as needed. Shields are also helpful when FHs and DWs are both rushing the farmers, to reduce friendly fire accidents.

I agree with the DxV04. More invaders means more pressure on the host, especially with all invaders working together. With so many opponents, host usually resort to flailing, making them easy prey for parry-baiters. As long as you wait for other invaders before charging in, and this will not be too long of a wait in the mass invasion, you will be able to abuse the host's insecurity.
As of 2 A.m. today, Keptras Æn Genlibra joined in council. In the end, after 2 and a half hours of debate, they came to the decision that they would indeed join up. With Keptras Æn Genlibra, there is an increase of 423 FHs. And, according to rumors going around C.A.L.V.A.D.E.A.N., LothDoviβ λαryl, or 'Dragon Hunters' in English, are meeting at some point today. The Rϕynel Corderα, or 'Royal guard', are also rumored to be meeting today. As I am not part of either, I am not allowed to join the council, nor know their decision till the council ends. I'm not even told when the council is, nor could I enter to observe if I did. Even so, I'm sure we will hear good news in the near future. That's the good thing about being the Operation leader; I'm told every none covert event taking place in every brigade. We are all itching for a fight.

It seems our ragtag band of warriors just got organised support guys.
We'll have to show them what our members can do, earn some recognition out there.
I have no idea who your friends are ultra, but remind me not to cross them. Ever.

I think we just got pro support in our conquest of the highest order.
Guess I'll get out there with my slightly less serious mentality and show them that screwing around with the Gankers is just as fun

I second that!!! - ultraflame22 has too many allies to even think about messing with. But as they say an "enemy of my enemy is my friend." So I am glad to be on the right side of justice this time.
Its almost time people - final preparations are in effect for me.

C.A.L.V.A.D.E.A.N. is a forum site based in Transylvania made and owned by a friend of mine by the username of Ravager. He is as pro as people get. He beat DarkSouls without dieing(Not counting the story death to Seth) on his first try without looking up anything. This is an epic feet seeing as he was human the whole time. Just about everyone on the site is a pro(Some official, some not) at one game or another, and the members list is in the millions. But, for such a large site, it is strikingly hard to get to. I've tried googling it, searching it in several engines, and nothing has come up. I would post a link, but due to security precautions taken by Ravager against hackers(Which there are a lot of, thanks to Ravager's prowess among the hacking society), it would lead you to a blank page. I've forgotten how to post the link so others can get to the site without hitting the firewall Ravager set up. I'll try to get in touch with him and relearn how to do it.befowler wrote:Apologies if I missed this, but can someone explain to me what C.A.L.V.A.D.E.A.N. is, and how I subscribe to their newsletter?
Side note: It is confirmed that LothDoviβ λαryl is currently in council. I will post their decision as soon as they release it.
