Hey Dough, you can link to specific posts if you did not know. I see in the op you mention for people to scroll through and find the stuff you couldn't fit but you can put a link to those specific posts. The link at the top left of each post where it says Re: There's more to them is the link you want to copy.

Re: There's more to them
What about "Trusty" Patches? He appears as same kind of person as in Demon's Soul. But the things I find curious about him is that he actually have no influence about Reah, Petrus and those 2 clerics. I killed Patches in Catacombs at beginning, but Reah was still stuck in Tomb of Giants at the same place and her companions were hollow. Also Petrus acted as same way.
Other thing is that Patches seems to know quite a lot other NPCs.
"Oi, have you met Lautrec the Embraced? Believe me on this one, bruv...
He's completely mad. Believe me on this one, my love... He's completely
mad. He wouldn't think twice about cutting somebody down. So watch out
for him, especially if you've humanity to spare." (Lautrec)
Oi, have you met Petrus, that self-proclaimed cleric? Believe me on this
one, bruv... The man is scum. Believe me on this one, my love... The
man is scum. Don't you be fooled by his claims to do good. They're all
the same, those rotten clerics. (Petrus)
Here, have you met that sunbathing Solaire? Believe me on this one, bruv... He's a complete idiot. But he happens to be an awfully strong idiot. Just nod your head, and keep him on your side! Nyah hah hah hah! (Solaire)
Here, have you met that backwoods Shiva?Believe me on this one, bruv...The man is trouble. I can see it in his eyes. I just can. Hmph, No doubt about it. Watch him. (Shiva of the East)
On the other hand Lautrec is only other character who mentions Patches saying that will have his hide if ever again meet him. But about things what Patches says about other NPCs is quite interesting how right he is. It is like he would be there to warn us about certain characters and their doings. But why?
Lautrec and Petrus could easily to be explained by that Patches hates (maybe even fears) Lautrec and want you take maybe him out. And Petrus is cleric which Patches hates. But Solaire and Shiva? What connection they have with Patches? Solaire mentions Tomb of Giant when he speculates where his "own sun" could be but I have never read anywhere that he would visit there in game and on the other hand his replic give image that he haven't visited there ever (or in catacombs). And Shiva, which is seen in first in Darkroot Garden and later in Blighttown, if you are forest hunter. I don't have any connction between him and Patches except that skeletons use skimitars and murakumos (or what their name is) ---> So they use eastern style weapons.
And then one little thing which is maybe little off topic, not sure. I took yesterday closer look to Gwyn's 4 kinght's rings (Hornet Ring, Hawk Ring, Leo Ring, Wolf Ring). 3 first mentioned rings description says that those rings belonged to their owners (Hornet Ring Belonged to Lord's Blade Ciaran etc), but Wolf Ring: The Wolf Ring belongs to Artorias the Abysswalker. Don't know if someone else has mentioned this before, but I maybe dont want to be there when the owner comes to get back his ring...

Ill get to the main part of your post later but for the last paragraph what are you saying? Artorias was one of Gwyns knights before he fell.

Re: There's more to them
I mean the diffenrence between rings desciption:
Leo Ring: "One of the special rings granted to the four knights of Gwyn. The Leo Ring BELONGED to Ornstein the Dragonslayer. This ring strengthens counters with pierce weapons. His lugged spear is said to have sliced a boulder in two."
Hawk Ring: "One of the special rings granted to the four knights of Gwyn. The Hawk Ring BELONGED to Hawkeye Gough, who led the Greatarchers. Boosts bow range, so that arrows fly like they were shot by Gough's great bow, which took down high-flying dragons."
Hornet Ring: "One of the special rings granted to the four knights of Gwyn. The Hornet Ring BELONGED to the Lord's Blade Ciaran. By boosting critical attacks, its wearer can annihilate foes, as Ciaran's dagger laid waste to Lord Gwyn's enemies."
Wolf Ring: "One of the special rings granted to the four knights of Gwyn. The Wolf Ring BELONGS to Artorias the Abysswalker. Artorias had an unbendable will of steel, and was unmatched with a greatsword."
So why Wolf Ring still belongs to Artorias but other knight's rings just belonged to them, but not anymore. I'm not native english speaker, but I would understand these descriptions in that way that for example Hornet Ring belonged to Ciaran, but she died and Ring was passed forward. But Artorias Wolf Ring still belongs to him, he is still rightfull owner when you found the ring and maybe alive also (?).

Re: There's more to them
Ok, I see what you mean now. That is a little odd. And its obviously not a translation thing due to the other ones being correct.
Also I just noticed Artorias is called the abysswalker. He couldnt walk the abyss until he fell. I wonder what his gwyn service title was?

Re: There's more to them
That is interesting indeed. But could it be possible that the Abysswalker is his service name. After all he went to kill darkwraiths (if remember now right) and his sword was like to meant to use fights against dark creatures. But walking in abyss... was it that also players could go abyss without ring after killing Four Kings, just remember that have read something like that? Also if knights weren't ordinary human beings that could explain ability to go Abyss.

Re: There's more to them
Even artorias could only walk the abyss with the ring, which he got after he turned to the dark, so it cant have been his service name. You can walk the abyss after you kill them, but they were alive when Artorias was walking it.

Re: There's more to them
What if Four Kings weren't then when Artorias did this? I mean is that possible that Artorias joined covenant before Four Kings turned to dark?
"Its wearer, like Artorias himself can traverse the Abyss." Does this reaveal anything. I mean can it mean both that maybe Artorias did walking without ring and ring gives same ability to others. Or can it also mean that Artorias used to ring walk in Abyss?
I would understand it that way that Artorias could do that without ring, but I might be totally wrong =).

Re: There's more to them
No because Artorias fought the darkwraiths, and the darkwraiths were servants of the 4 kings.
Actually he may have been able to. Odd, never noticed that wording before. You might be onto something.

Re: There's more to them
Yeah those are good points. Beatrice could without a ring so perhaps he could too and the ring was a symbol of the agreement and has no power except to trick the kings (or maybe the abyss itself) into thinking Artorias has returned. That is Interesting that the wolf ring is threw only one in present tense. Ornstein has to be killed for the ring so past tense is necessary but the other knights, while presumed dead, are question marks. Artorias is also presumed dead (and I believe he actually is) but perhaps his is present tense to make it questionable. There's other signs that they wanted it ambiguous such as ingward hinting you should go find him

Re: There's more to them
Well gough is in the DLC however you dont have to be dead to not own something. Perhaps Ciaran's ring was given to the other person, and gough's was left behind/lost, while Artorias knows where his is, and left it there. Over time as Oolacile fell where he left it became part of the forest. Although I think in the present time he must be dead. Otherwise how will we get his armour?

Re: There's more to them
Gough might be in the past part of the dlc (all of it? Not sure) so he might be dead in the present. Or you're right, there's other ways to not own it. He went to Giant Blacksmith Pawn and Weapon Emporium and sold it. Or renounced his knighthood perhaps

I know he is in the DLC, so maybe we'll see some of his story. Although knowing FROM we'll have to piece 90% of it together ourselves.

My guess is that dlc gives us answer couple of questions and gives at least twice as many new ones... but what would be nicer than solving them

Hey, I don't have time to read everything, and I'm not sure how this can help, but talking to Sen's merchant, he said that King Knight Rendal, Black Iron Tarkus, and Logan failed to defeat the Iron Golem and reach Anor Londo. He also says that you will be eaten alive if you try.

Why would a robot need to eat?

Tarkus had to defeat the Golem, he made it into Anor Londo and died by the Painting.

Well could the explanitation be as simple as merchant just don't know what Iron Golem is and that is reason why says that "you will be eaten alive". He seems to know well who have come to Sen's fortress, but also might not know who may have get out of there. He just collects armors from people who have failed in Sen's fortress
