My new roommate has started trying to play Dark Souls (he's primarily a PC gamer and doesn't have many console games) and is absolutely determined to beat the Asylum Demon at the first encounter since I told him you get the Demon's Great Hammer if you do. Only problem is he didn't take the Black Firebombs...and hasn't ever played a Souls game before. So...I might be a while before I can get on, but if people are still going late I might be able to join for a few duels

How about this you can use your r2 attack all you like as long as im allowed to block with my sheild (a few people have complained about me "turtleing" with tarkus)

I'm actually fine with the Greatsword Turtle, the only one people really have an issue with is Spear Turtles.

So anyone hosting tonight? I'm lazy today....

thats what i said to him then he replyed and said tha tturtleoing in general was forbidden in fc so i just two hand my sword and block and attack with it since i have no other real option.

Shields block, why wouldn't that be okay lol? Turtling may be boring to some but I like to think of it as an intense battle of wits and opportunity

Yeah, there's a difference between turtling and using a shield. Poking from behind a shield is turtling. Alternating between blocking and attacking with a weapon that can't attack with a shield raised is not turtling. To be honest, your build is probably very weak to getting backstabbed... but that's against the rules and it's a rule I support, so I (/we) will just have to fight you head on! I'll just have to brush up on my Greatsword parry timing.

I was the one who was hosting tonight and I summoned Tarkus quite a bit. He won a lot of matches. In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with using shields in FC, but some fights came down to people having to use the Demon's Spear to do any damage at all since the shield was up 99% of the fight. I was the one who recommended to him that he not do this since back stabs are not allowed as part of the FC etiquette. I never, at any point in the conversation, said shields were forbidden.

It might be good to get Rant's final opinion on this since it will effect FC going forward.

Yeah i apologise for this everyone i was actually about to write a post here for an official apology about the incident earlier. But yeah he saimply said that it wouldent seem fair if i hid behind a sheild for a considerable amount of time and the only way to really hit me was to backstab and he dident say that i wasent aloud to use sheilds i simply misunderstood at the time. so sorry about that bud.
