I agree with all of them except the turtle... some players are just defensive and calling that turtling would be discriminatory to cautious strategic players. Basically your saying no spears which i think is stupid.

I think the only type of turtling people have an issue with is using a spear while behind a shield. Because without backstabs, there's no proper way to punish these people outside of dead angling, and not every weapon can do that.

Punish them with whips. Notched whip + Poison resin. No recoil for hitting shield, and you exert pressure on them via status ailments.

If I'm cosplaying a Thief with a bandit's knife, what am I supposed to do? Just stand in front of them waiting to parry when they eventually strike? Then they'll just turtle longer and not attack.

Depends on how hardcore you're cosplaying. For example a thief might poison his foe with dung pies, or throw firebombs to try to break his opponent's guard.


I do understand that there is a couple of hard-counters for every build, but creativity can limit that number a lot.

My best option would be to try and bleed him, but if a sudden dead angle GS strike lands, I'm more than likely dead unless I can manage the Stunlock escape glitch.

How about this, if you turtle then you get chain bsd?

Not sure if you know what a turtle is, tanking is cool, I don't think anyone has a problem with cautious players, what I mean is people poking you behind a shield over and over again which is kinda annoying very easy to counter by bsing or parrying which is hard because of lag and thurst weapons beign harder to parry.

There's northing to it, just read the rules and then head down to blighttown and put your sign down by the beoken gate. We do it every sat night but there's always people down there practicing or dueling, just post something here asking if anyone is down for some dueling.
