Once we reached priscilla and defeated her, the dead body that holds the pillage for the xanthous set wasn't there! But when he summoned me and i killed jeremiah, he still was able to get his pillage of the xanthous armor...You know, i seriously like that big head of his, i really do. It makes you wonder, the heck is in there? hahaha

Yeah I had that happen to me on my last playthrough, never ended up going back to get it though. I just think sometimes when you have a Phanton, items don't show up for some reason, it has happened in a few different places to me.

if you kill him them immediately proceed to priscilla, its not there, if you die rest at a bonfire(i think) or basically enter a loading screen the corpse will be loaded next time you pass that way, in your case just revisit ariamis and it should be ther.
