Dark Souls DLC Empty Dark Souls DLC

Post by Digitalyzed Fri Apr 13, 2012 8:04 am

Before I start, don't get your hopes up, this is just a question to the more knowledgable members of the forum. So, I've seen a few people mention it quite surely, and this new background is enforcing the point considerably, as that thing at the top looks like on of the planned new bosses. So I ask you forum, are us PS3 and Xbox players getting DLC?

Sorry if this has been answered already, I've just not noticed it in a thread yet.

It isn't known for certain. All that is known is there will be DLC, which would lead us to believe it will be coming to Consoles, since the PC version will be coming with the new stuff, but nothing has been confirmed as of this moment. It would be interesting as well if it comes as free content, but it's really 50/50 right now, so I can only say I'm fine with the DLC either way, if it is indeed coming to us haha.

Would seem rather odd if they didnt.

Plus, the Manticore boss is represented in the art book edition happy
Money talks, so can't see why they shouldnt "leech" us for the DLC, I would gladly use my points on that.

Normally I'm very against DLC, but I'm actually okay with it in the case of this game. I feel they really deserve some extra money for the work that has gone into this game, hell if I could I would just donate money to them if it is free to let them know how satisfied I am with the game.

I'm actually okay with DLC as long as the content is added later on, and not just something that is on the disc already, but you will have to unlock happy
I have bought most of the DLC for Dragon Age series actually, except the weapon packs etc.

I was just wondering, do you think they will make it possible for PC gamers and Xbox to play together since Microsoft is involved in both?

I don't think so, Mircrosoft typically doesn't do Cross platform games like that, the few they've done were utter failures. As well, imagine the hackers and modders being able to play with the Xbox from the PC, the horror.

There is always FC if you are on PSN, a great form of PvP where people just get together and have fun.

Imagine doing Co-Op and getting invaded by a guy with infinite health, if it was cross platform they might end up being pretty common.

I only connect to the internet once in a while, and when I do I tend to co-op.

Man we have a lot of WoW players on this forum it seems.

It's fight club, no spamming, no backstab, no thrust weapon turtling, a great place to duel and have fun. Sometimes there are events too where people have to use crazy and hilarious set ups.

I think someone was trying to set up an XBL FC as well. You should check the PvP section if you are interested.

I stopped playing WoW the day TBC came out, but yes the society was a big part of that game happy

Ah yeah Fight Club of course, saw someone mention it.
It sounds really interesting, the bb and thrust turtling actually made me stop happy
I will look it up once I get more time, living in Germany for three more months, then I should have more time. Perfect timing with the DLC, if that happens.

    Thanks for mentioning it!

I checked out the trailer and it seems there are at least three new bosses, I'd only heard of two of them. There are, in order on the trailer: A large hand looking thing that is actually a mouth, a dragon with what looks to be one eye that sits on a bridge, may be a boss like Priscilla, and the fabled Manticore thing, which looks to be a battle much like that of Sif, only a bit smaller.

I hope so, I've always thought it would be interesting if there was a form of poison that caused you to drain your stamina faster, kind of like how a poison doesn't just have to kill you, it can just weaken you.

I'd prefer the health poison because I can just pop a purple moss clump and be done with it I can't do that for some weird stamina draining poison but it may still be interesting

I wouldn't say it just drains stamina, meaning you'll get to a point where you can't run, or even attack. More that you use 2x as much stamina with each action, and it regenerates slower. It would make a boss fight where mobility or blocking pretty interesting in my book.

Hopefully this time, you can make some useful weapons from the boss souls, which isnt the case right now happy

I only made the Furysword and the Shield AFTER the nerf. What about you guys?

I've made no boss weapons yet, but I hope to soon. I'm just old fashioned in sticking to my regular weapons I guess.

Great Lord Great Sword and Dragonslayer spears are really powerful weapons in the right hands, I typically carry a GLGS into the forest, and if I had a soul of Ornstein I'd carry a Dragonslayer spear as well. As well the GsoA is pretty good at high SL, plus there is the Moonlight horn which is excellent for poking since some carry shields with no block against magic.

It could, it hits faster and stunlocks easier as well as weighs less. It can dead angle while 1h, and has decent range. I would say if you are very skilled with a Zweihander it is better, but the GLGS is a great option. As well your stats don't really matter as long as you can wield it because its base damage is where it is at.
