Re: transient curse??
Transient Curse is used to be temporarily cursed, it's only function is to permit you to harm ghosts without being -really- cursed. It will not protect you from being cursed however.

Yes being cursed will not stop you getting cursed again.Rynn wrote:Transient Curse is used to be temporarily cursed, it's only function is to permit you to harm ghosts without being -really- cursed. It will not protect you from being cursed however.

Re: transient curse??
Certain armors have a -lot- of curse resistance on them. I'd reccomend mixing a few pieces of them in to your armor. If you search your inventory, it's very likely you have at least one piece. 75-90 curse resistance should be more then enough.

When being cursed is on the line, I'm rather inclined to agree.

make sure you bump up your humanity as much as possible. The best anti curse equipment. IMO.

Re: transient curse??
Also upgrade your blood shield as high as you can. The resistances increase with its level. Also the gargoyle halberd might increase curse res but Im not sure.

Yeah I found out the other day when my bleed res doubled when I equipped it instead of a small increase.

Xantheous crown or whatever that yellow head wrap thing is called had the highest curse resist by a long way when I fought Seath. Try that if you have it

Re: transient curse??
Haha yea I Don't remember my exact setup but I've definitely gotten 400 something Curse resistance for the seath fight.
I remember being extremely disappointed since it was my first time fighting seath and I was terrified...
Overkill indeed ^ ^

Re: transient curse??
I'd really like the Palladin armour but I didn't get it first playthrough because I never met the geezer who wears it. Couldn't find Leroy in the Tomb. Do you have to meet him in the flesh, as it were, to have him invade as a phantom on the way to Nico?

Re: transient curse??
Don't overlook the crossbow when fighting Seath. The lock-on range is great and my upgraded crossbow (with Heavy Bolts) does more damage than my upgraded bow.
The crossbow is great to lure him into the middle of the room so you can get behind him and attack the tail. If he is too close to the wall, his tail lashings will kill you easily.
The Antique Dress gear from the Hydra area has a high curse resistance and it is easy to get.

Re: transient curse??
On the way to Nito you have to be human Slake, yes.
By the way don't certain shields block curse if you have them raised when he hits you with his crystals? I've noticed myself taking damage from them with a shield raised before but my curse bar not filling.

Re: transient curse??
Paladin chest + Antiquated skirt should make it almost impossible for him to curse you during the second fight. Antiquated set is typically easier to get than the Paladin set, but if you can't find either then go with the Dingy set. The dingy robe and bloodstained skirt both have good curse resist at +9/+10 and are trivial to get early if you are willing to humor Lautrec.
As others have said, the lockon range in Seath's battle borders on silly so you can also just stand off with spells or a bow. If you want the sword, bring summons and they should be able to get it easily if you distract him with arrows. I wouldn't recommend carrying a lot of humanity down there unless you are a summon. Finally, yes if you get caught in a crystal field keep your shield up, it does help against both dmg and curse. Great magic barrier also nerfs his breath attack dmg (which seems to be almost entirely magical in nature), but doesn't seem to reduce curse buildup so shields are still smart.
