Re: Talk about the art of Film
He wanted to release a book and/or movie "If I did it, This is how I would have done it." And yeah, public outrage didn't let that work out. I believe he planned to use that as a forum to discuss it better rather than a confession but I could be wrong. Buffalo Bills fans all think he's innocent.

I loved him in the Naked Gun series. Really wanted to believe he didn't do it. But I think he probably did. Maybe it's just my relatively pessimistic perspective of human nature.

Re: Talk about the art of Film
Nordberg ruled! I didn't detect any dishonesty from him in that movie but you never know. Either way I don't think he got a fair shake at trial. That was a circus disguised as justice. I just double checked on the book. He did intend it to be a way to discuss the case. That's the official statement. There was talk about him wanting money off of murder which led to issues then the Goldman family was granted the rights and added some stuff and changed the cover to have it look like it reads "I did it" rather than "If I did it."

Re: Talk about the art of Film
How come you guys all seem to use netflix when it costs £6 a month?
I mean, isn't it easy to just use free streaming...?

I use Netflix because it works on any computer, my PS3, my Vita and my cell phone.

Exactly. And a lot of times those free streaming sites take FOREVER to load. I figure that by paying the $8 a month for Netflix I'm actually saving money, because I essentially watch it instead of cable, which is like $50 a month at best.

Re: Talk about the art of Film
interesting, yet I see little point of having it on my PS3 when I could have it on my Laptop
Thats a fair point with the price, but you could still have all shows/films and more from free streaming using internet you'd need anyway to facilitate netflix..

Re: Talk about the art of Film
I did it that way for a long time. It's worth the $8 to me to not have to deal with trying to find a website every single time I want to watch something. A lot of them get shut down pretty regularly, or end up being mislabeled, or are full of spyware, or play obnoxious advertisements that you can't mute while you're watching. Netflix is just less of a head ache. I'll pay $8 all day long to cater to my own laziness

Re: Talk about the art of Film
PS3 lets me see movies in near HD on my 65" screen rather than the hassle to get it from the laptop to the tv with probably some diminished quality. Phone and Vita both look amazing too with it and like Plastic said, it's typically faster and more reliable than other options. So when my daughter is tired and in need of Dora, we have something always ready for her.
Edit: Also I don't always get to watch a whole movie at a time and Netflix will mark where I left off even if I switch devices usually.

Serious I actually take some film classes in college, and when in that class you get access to over 10,000 films stored in the database, for free, with unlimited access until the class ends.

I saw the Game, with Michael Douglas, for the first time. Really really enjoyed it. Total psychological roller coaster. Also my last horror recommendation, Lake Mungo. Wonderfully disturbing.

Just watched a music video with footage from this film, looks pretty good. Has anyone else seen it and would they recommend it?

If you like the sequels to the Matrix and Stigmata then you'll like Constantine.

Best jonny deep movie!PlasticandRage wrote:Dead Man. My favorite movie ever. It's probably more than 2 hours. Jim Jarmusch is the man. Amazing amazing sound track too. They played it for Neal Young with no sound and he played acoustic throughout the whole thing and they recorded it. Amazing film
Did you know much about william blake's work/life before you saw dead man?
I had a few friends hate the movie... But theyy had never even heard of william blake! I think they have their heads in a hole.

"Have you heard my poetry?"
I'm actually a literature major with a focus in romantic era poetry. I love Blake. He's so complex it's unreal. I have a paper due on him in 4 days. I'm making a comparison between his perspectives and Taoist ideals.
That movies death metaphors were what really moved me. It approaches it with such dark tones throughout the entire movie and then at the climax it's just complete peaceful release. If I ever were to call a contemporary film a work of art it would be Dead Man.
Gary Farmer is down right spectacular in it too.

Yeah, it's worth a watch, it's pretty interesting. But don't expect a classic, after all it's Keanu Reaves doing what he does best: Playing characters with no significant depth.

Re: Talk about the art of Film
I watched Drag Me to Hell with my wife last night. Classic Raimi. I thought the movie was going for full serious horror (which often fails) then the over the top and subtle comedy nods came in big mid movie and really finished strong. The first scene was like "I hate this movie already" but gave it a chance and, while no Evil Dead, I like it. Alison Lohman does a pretty good job in addition to a not remotely disappointing Justin Long. Felt they were both gambles

Re: Talk about the art of Film
Another great film, One Hour Photo.
This film stars Robin Williams as Sy the Photo guy. He's a somewhat quiet man who works in film development with his partner Yoshi, as he gets closer to a family whom which he often develops photos for. This sounds like a nice light hearted romp of a comedy starring Robin Williams right? Except it isn't, this is a thriller movie about the psychological descent and insanity of Sy as he grows an unhealthy obsession over this family, developing every photo for them since before their child was born and even keeping his own copies. This is a pretty sick and disturbing film which sends chills down my spine, as it is a completely realistic situation that even has probably happened before. If you are into feeling uncomfortable and paranoid, this is a great film to see. People love to insult Robin for his comedy films, but many forget he is actually a very very acomplished actor.

One Hour Photo and Insomnia both show how good Robin Williams can be. Even Good Morning Vietnam, still comedyish but he has to have a broad range.

Re: Talk about the art of Film
Those are also excellent films, I own all of them haha. Ever seen world's greatest dad? It is a very, very weird film with a lot of dark humour in it. Robin's son is played by the ginger boy from Spy Kids, as a teenager. He looks the same, which is weird. I've got to say, whoever was behind just making that film has extreme balls because of what the story is about.
