coming out of the closet

Well... I am finally going to come out in the open and join the forum, after more than 400 hours of dks and stalking the forums with no input, I am so totally confused by my next adventure.. :shock: I want to try the gravelord path and I am not understanding how exactly it works, I have read the entire newbie guide and I for some reason am not comprehending it. I do extensive research on topics before I take the plunge so as to not fail when I do so.

So here I am, finally in the light and I think my skin is burning..

I really am not understanding the way that the gravelords work I guess because I have never been invaded on my ps3 by one. Other than cursing other people's world with BP's and being summoned as revenge..do the GL's get along with FH's? What about DW's? any help at all is awesome, tips especially. I know the forums are full of incredibly helpful people and i'm glad to finally need to join.

Most Forest Hunters are friendly towards Gravelords, if they know you are one. As well some odd DM and DW are also friendly from time to time. The issue is doing your best to let other people see your dark aura, so they don't think you're just a random host, and know you are GL.

I love the view, I am read over so much on this forum and I actually have hit the covenants page multiple times. A dark aura? I dont remember reading about that does that mean the color of my phantom/character? I'll delve into the covenants page once more and maybe ill find the answers I seek! :?:

Basically Gravelords have a black glow around them, that in areas like Darkroot are really really easy to see. So it's best to put yourself next to something a bit lighter so people can see, I don't GL in the forest much so I'm not too knowledgeable there. But in areas you can often put yourself against a stone wall and let people see your glow.

Yeah some of the lighter color armor helps the GLs black aura stand out more too.

Any GLs in the forest get 2 eyes and a humanity, then i BC out(or hang around as a body guard)

I used to hang out in the forest and a DW and dishonorably just attack hosts, then I came on the forums and I destroyed my DW and I respect the forest now. I made a FH but she is only a SL42 and im not ready to open her yet to the forest elite.

I used to invade in the forest, I no longer do. I only ever succeeded once, then I came to look at the forums. Did a 360 and I destroyed the character. rebuild in progress.

Hopefully you'll re-adjust and starting destroying those gankers. It's such a great feeling to defeat them.

Yeah on ng++ i had to summon a phantom to help get past the 1 big and 2 little 1s at the bottom of the stairs.

You will spawn BPs whether you are near the bonfire or past artorias door so feel good that no matter where you are spreading some real misery haha

I played about 20 hours in the last 2 days on my GL. He is a lot of fun, however I dont know what weapon to use on him. I have the GL Sword to +5 just because it was easy and the move set works for what I use it for, but I know I need a better weapon than it for later on and I am working Pyro for Toxic mist and Psn Mist.. I just dont know what weapon I want to use.. Hmm.. So many to choose from.

Ah, this explains it then. I once had a random DW invade while I was gravelording. I was preparing to get BSed, but the next thing he dropped 10 eyes and then left. I always wondered how he knew. See, you do get awesomee DWs.

Yep Joh, you'll find a lot of us are actually pretty nice people.

Keep your eyes on those with a Talisman in their hand though haha.

Black fog around you body, and you know. just don't pick and overly fat body.

Hi Cathana, wellcome to the forums.
From what I know is that in order to infect a master's world the boss in your area should be still alive.
I have only seen BP in New Londo. They were Darkwraiths so now I can say that it really works.
The sad thing is that you won't know if the worlds you infected generated BP. You would have to ask that to the other person.
From what I know, when you use an eye of death you leave a sign that appears in 3 different worlds. Through this sign you'll get invaded by blue phantoms that if you kill them will give you an eye of death.
So you don't invade as a gravelord you actually host and wait to get invaded.
