I know you guys were joking but...well im bored.
They are a secret delicacy here
If you want them on your pizza here you must call them peppers. lol
Uhm, they all have the same taste here, guess there are different kinds
Take a bite out of each one raw and you should be able to tell a difference.

Nope they're very common here so I'm sure.
But there are different kinds, such as with more or less seeds and something like that

That sounds amazing...i have to do this.
@Rynoa: Well ive only tried them raw or on pizza a few times as i do not like them on my pizza. So When i have them they are diced and cooked down into jumbleya or something else with various other flavors added.

My local food (yes spring rolls is inside):

The steamed ones are put on a plate and into these bamboo 'steaming cages' and stacked into tall piles and steamed, like in the photo below. Then the whole cage is brought to you.

That thread was discussing our love of food. This one turned into what our real food is like by culture.....that we love. Completely different.

Re: Culture misconceptions
Okay then. Here's Britain's genuine culinary articles:
Roast Dinners, Fish and Chips, Sausage and Mash, Pie, Balti (westernised Indian cuisine).
Drinks: Ale, Stout, Cider and Tea (yes that one is nicked from the chinese but whatever).

Re: Culture misconceptions
AHEM!
Cottage Pie, Cumberland Sausages, Full English Breakfast, Ploughmans Lunch, Yorkshire puddings, Steak and Kidney pie, Beef and Ale pie, English mustard, Worcestershire sauce, brown sauce, Cheeses (so many cheeses!), Custard, Bakewell Tarts, Banoffie Pie, Eaton Mess, Bread and Butter Pudding.
Pimms
We also arguably introduced the world to Ketchup, but we didn't invent it, we nicked it from the other side of the world in the 18th century.

Cant believe I forgot that in our list of iconic drinks!
Also, forgetting to mention our championing of the Breakfast was a flaw, though I'd give cheese to the Swiss, ours is more basic.
I'd also love to claim the sport cheese rolling on that note, it's awesome take a look (it's not boring as the name suggests):

Last article I heard about cheese rolling was stating all of the injuries it causes. So that means it's awexome.

Agreed. If I wasn't busy during May this year, I would totally go up there and compete, would be so fun.

Re: Culture misconceptions
For dangerous games here we have
-Broomball,
-riding around fields in old cars (we hit a rock bigger than our LTD once going 60mph......fun!),
-shooting things (I'm better with a .300 rifle than a .22 and more accurate with a .357 than a 9mm somehow),
-Going to Pennsylvania to buy fireworks because they can't be sold legally in New York. However, in Pennsylvania they can't universally legally use them so most places will only sell to someone with out of state identification, even if that state is know to not allow them
For organized events there's a competition near where I live where everyone builds the best sleds they can out of cardboard and then go down a big hill. Some of the more elaborate ones are more like parade floats than sleds.
Oh yeah.....and Polar Bear groups. I've done one in Rochester, NY twice to help raise money for Special Olympics

Re: Culture misconceptions
Best food I ever ate was a kebab with mint jelly, salad, cheese and chili sauce on naan. Got it from a place called paradise kebab in Nottingham, England.
They told me it was Indian food, but I don't believe them. For those of us living in the states it's absolutely not what we call a kebab and for the life of me I can't find one here. Closest thing was a gyro from a lunch cart in NY. Poor imitation if you ask me.
