Badass pyromancer build Empty Badass pyromancer build

Post by Sulfur Sat Apr 28, 2012 7:16 pm

So i was using my friends account, who uses the armor of thorns and a pyromancy glove, with a fire washing pole as a side weapon, We discovered a pretty dirty way of using the set to your advantage, what we did was roll into the enemy and spam combustion, then roll into them again, rinse and repeat until death, no one escaped it, so is this build as foolproof as we think, or are people online just simps?

it is rather foolproof against players that lack the ability to think on their feet - gankers - but anyway lets just say it isnt particularly foolproof

Yeah the fighting style falls apart if you cant stagger or roll into me or hit me with combustion. If the opponent is a good BSer you might be in trouble.

im not saying its a bad build but its boring in my opinion. no offense ive had very similar builds. its just really boring when EVERYONE uses wog and great combustion like its the only thing in the game.

EDIT:sorry that sounded to negative. my current build also uses armor of thorns and i really like that you can cancel peoples attacks by rolling into them, also i love that it does dmg when you kick even if its only 6dmg.

I think it's a simple trick, and that's all. Now if you're like me, paranoid and carrying a bag so full of tricks that it'll make the joker sweet, then a new trick is always welcomed. Thing is, once you've shown it a good player won't fall for it again.

So I say you add on to it, like say, backing up the Combustion/Great Combustion with a swift roll attack weapon, like chaos claws. Roll in, hit, roll away or GC.

Yup I tend to have a few really sneaky ways to change up my style of play and also just trickt based on area hazards and objects thus if I saw someone do that to me, and they won, I'd be less likely to fall for a combustion spam again. Thanks to the Parish Griefers I'm an expert a dodging pyros.

Also, problem with Kirk's armor is when it staggers you when you roll into an opponent! I think it happens when your opponent has higher poise, but I'm not certain. Sometimes it'll stagger both of you, and other times it'll only stagger you. So you do need to be careful what you roll into.

I've only had this happen to me when I was wielding weapons I can't use effectively. This happened when I was wearing thorns armor and two-handing a bonewheel shield (which I didn't have the strength for one-handed). So I really think it has to do with wielding weapons effectively, though I could be wrong.

like amos said if the person your fighting isnt very good itll work, but youd only do this to a decent player once before they counter with a 2h r2 attack
