Silver Knight Weapons

Hello all, quick question.

Does anyone know why the Silver Knight Sword can be buffed, but the spear cannot? I collected both weapons and found it strange that only one was capable since both share the same properties (i.e. Pure physical damage, dex-based with divine modifier.)

It's because of the Spear's divine damage. Weapons with dual damage types can't be buffed. I believe before the 1.04 patch, the Sword actually had Occult damage on it and couldn't be buffed either.
