Hey guys I just wanna see what you think of my character. Honestly he's a bulldozer in PvE on 1st playthrough but the few times I go PvP I usually got killed by fast and agile players. My attacks usually miss them but when they hit it HURTS. Since I dont parry and my rolls are fat rolls, I just block the attacks before dual handling my BK sword and attack.
Please tell me what you think happy

    SL 78 Pyromancer

    Vit: 24
    Att: 16
    End: 26
    Str: 24
    Dex: 24
    Res: 23
    Int: 12
    Fai: 12

    R1: Black Knight Sword +4
R2: Pyromancy Flame +10 or Longbow +13 with Heavy/Red arrows
    L1: Eagle Shield +7
L2: Bare Fist (yeah, I'm that encumbered)

    Armor:
    Havel's Helm
    Havel's Armor
    Havel's Gauntlets
    Havel's Leggings

Rings: (I really need better rings, I guess)
    Ring of Steel Protection
    Slumbering Dragoncrest Ring

    Spells:
    Combustion
    Iron Flesh
    Great Combustion
    Soul Arrow

Am I doing something horribly wrong in my stats/equip/tactics? Or am I just that bad a player? silly

swap black knight sword for a claymore or a bastard sword and youll see some improvement in your pvp, BKS is very good at pve but is useless in pvp and swap eagle shield out for a medium shield you acn parry with, and welcome to forums freind big grin

I'd suggest he keep sthe eagle shield for now. Its good for people new to pvp because parrying is a hard skill with lag and they're better off with the extra stability and deflection.

maybe so but youll never develop your dodging skills if you use a heavy shield as a crutch, i made that mistake with my first "pvp" build was very similar to his, and i just got owned

lol all my original pvp was in the forest. I didnt do to badly. +15 MSGS destroys people. Of course this was after 3 months of offline practice. I learnt that running away is a viable option.

So will Havel's Ring be of any help then? Or should I just change armour and shield? I also have a Dragonslayer Spear +4. Is hiding behind a shield and just spear away as good in PvP as it is in PvE?
    Wow, so many questions :p

Turtling (spear behind shield) will make people backstab you since its the easiest way around it. And thats not something you want. I second the claymore. Or the MSGS. Both are amazing.

If you are fat rolling I think you're better off being a turtle, with the Dragonslayer Spear and the Eagle Shield. In my opinion fat roll doesn't work in PvP, so raise up that shield an poke them to death slowly. Don't let them pivot/roll BS you, always strafe away from them. Don't increase resistance, it's a waste. Why SL 80? Your stats are too spread out. I believe that's a warriors starting class so decrease Int and Faith to base and the rest to Vit/Dex. Equip Leo Ring and......Bellowing Dragoncrest Ring. Switch Soul Arrow for Chaos or Normal Great Fireball and Combustion for Fire Tempest.

    Edit: Starting class Pyromancer lol.

The spear idea will work, but in the long run it's better to experiment with weapons to develop your style and technique. Just going for the easiest kill all the time will probably keep you from progressing as a PvP player since you're only using a handful of tactics. Just be patient, accept that you WILL lose a lot at first, but you'll get the hang of it. No one jumps into this game and starts slam dunking people on their first day. Keep that in mind.

And welcome to the forums, man.
