when coupled with the ring of fog pre-patch, it was pretty fun. you were guaranteed to back stab your way to a PvP victory. Not sure what the use of it now would be, especially in PvE. I'm assuming there is some interesting lore behind the item.

It says it prevents all noise, any chance it silences spells?

It might. I know it prevents all sounds of weapons swinging except when you make contact with something else, like if you hit a wall that will make a sound but not the weapon swinging itself.

Spells still make noise, it silences your feet.
With both RoF and Slumbering Dragoncrest Ring, enemies will never turn around and see you, nor will they be hostile unless you're within 5 feet. You can even loose bosses.

Yeah you're right. Just tested. Could have sworn it silenced weapon swings. Definitely doesn't though.

I sometimes wear it with Ring of Fog when I farm the stray demon on the bridge for Demon titanite or run past him if I'm in a rush to get to Bed of Chaos fight for like the 20th time!
