Washing Pole!
So my PvP game has made great strides from where it was just a few weeks ago, however, whenever I encounter this weapon I am always at a loss. I do not know how to fight this monster, it has spear-like range, a devastating 2-handed R2 attack, is buffable, and, to top it all off, it causes bleed build-up.

Re: Washing Pole!
I tried to parry. Well lets say the range its ridiculous. Ranged also don't work. Really no tips, hope that they wear light armor, two hand your weapon and pray for a stunlock.

Dance, dance like you've never danced before!
Seriously it's a beast of a weapon, but like all weapons all it takes is fancy foot work and trickery to disassemble someone's game plan.

Re: Washing Pole!
So my options are dodge and dodge until I bleed out or hope that my opponent is wearing light armor (almost never the case)?
Man, I am royally boned.

More like dodge til they get bored or you can surprise them with a magical display of parrying skill

Re: Washing Pole!
try to gen in close to parry lag really helps it though so dont try to parry too far from it, you will not parry that thing, maybe use a spear? i always switch to my DGM when i see spear users or washing pole users. once their buff wears out the damage is ok btw.

Re: Washing Pole!
it has the lowest durability in the game at 60 so if you manage to get off an acid surge... you'll have one cursing katana user. also it can't stun well so heavy armor does well against it...

Re: Washing Pole!
Make sure you stay really close to your opponent, his advantage lies in reach, and ive noticed many Washing Pole users drop their poise to look cool so you should be able to stunlock em pretty easily.

Re: Washing Pole!
DO NOT RUN AWAY FROM IT! It's WSR1 will destroy you from half the map away. Try to get close, the range is a disadvantage if you get right up against them.

Re: Washing Pole!
I fight almost exclusively with shorter Katanas, mostly Chaos Blade, and against washing poles I just dance around until I see an opening then get in as close as I can and let fly one or two 2H swings then back off for a second. The real key I find is to be aggressive, if you just sit back too long you'll get torn up by its range. So find an opening and get up on them.

I started using the blood shield because of katanas in general to help with the bleed resist and red moss , since I started I haven't seen one

Re: Washing Pole!
As most long range weapons, try to stay as close as possible from your opponent. Use a shield. If you have poise use it to stunlock them.

Re: Washing Pole!
Thanks for the tips guys, there seems to be a consensus. Get in close+Have armor with poise+Don't be too defensive+Try and go for the stunlock=The defeat of Washing Pole users

Re: Washing Pole!
In my honest opinion, this weapon is overpowered to nearly broken standards. I just don't worry about it when someone uses it, and I look for the next duel.

Kinda what I do. It's gotten to the point where I just take the L against it and gear up for the next battle.

Re: Washing Pole!
Bleed weapons is my main weakness. I got so used to fighting big weapons and rapiers. I have no clue how to get a hit in to those fast swinging bleed weapons eating through the shield.
I had no idea what to do when a giant armor guy was swinging the PGS at me two handed.
