Yeah the BSS R2 typically does more non-crit damage than an equivalent estoc, although if you like mixing in backstabs/crits the estoc may win you over.

By tracking I mean how the bss R2 windup doesn't commit you to a direction of the thrust until nearly halfway through so if you are locked on and time it right often it will auto rotate you to stab someone coming out of their roll rather than try to stab them where they were when you triggered the attack. It's even easier if you don't lock on and just anticipate where they're going to end up given that the DWGR always rolls a certain distance in a straight line. The range isn't quite as good as a claymore R2, but it fires faster so you can trigger it later in their roll to still hit them at the end of it (good for those of us with aging reflexes), and you recover faster if you miss or they have high poise.

heres my new set up. i am loving it.i can wield the pike with this set up, but the winged spear ends up giving me more ring/armor adaptability. http://tinyurl.com/7pk86nt i kind of dont like using the sks(the winged does better dmg but has less range) or the dss, i just dont feel right using them. i prefer the winged, partazin, and pike personally.

My thoughts on the leo ring especially with the BSS are that I lose EVERYTIME I fight you or mofomey when you guys use it!

At 120 lvl it takes 2 BSS counter hits and a quick normal hit and your finished...I'd say that's prettty effective!!
