Its not too long to wait. You can always start a new toonwhile you wait. Also I noticed when we were dueling you used the greatsword 1 handed purely. Have you tried using it 2 handed?

Fear of getting hit can help you there, people wont be as likely to attack when they can get so badly stunlocked. It also gives a fair bit of extra damage. just play around with the movesets, see whihc one you prefer, also pay aattention to speed of swings. Aye variation on swing speed is a grand way to throw off even the best parriers. I used to do it with Dual Kats, katanas being super easy to parry, but the L1 move was that second slower than the normal combo.
