Sometimes I feel conspired against...

So I was once again attempting to kill asylum demon with my fists for the hammer. and having got him to 40% health with only a minute scratch what happens but my nose starts bleeding profusely (I nearly never get nosebleeds) Argh!

For me it´s the batteries in my controller that dies at the worst possible times.

Oh man xD I use a wired controller simply because I have been burned too many times by the battery eating monstrosity that is the wireless controller.
it always has a habit of cutting out at the worst moment.

Phone calls... In the middle of boss battles. It can be really annoying sometimes.
Or what about waiting at the bonfire in order to get summoned and nothing happens. You stand up fight the mob ans as soon as the mob is kicking your butt you get summoned...

I know that feeling. Trust me, me and my bridge Wyvern have had bad interruptions... Bad interruptions.

I also got this suspicion on my first playthrough when the only times I got killed we either I got demolished within 10 seconds of the fight starting or I got killed when the boss had a slither of health left...

The game just loves mocking us

I was fighting against four King's with a flame server, power within, red tearstone, and warrior/crimson/holy Armour, with a crystal red and white shield. At one point, I was charging at the last king, who needed about 1 to 2 hits to kill in NG+. I ran towards it, and was met with a purple ball, which killed me in the middle of the air, with almost full health to 0.

I yelled in agony of repetition in the very near future.

Oof sounds nasty. I have been dreading going up against them NG+ but they are the only ones I have to go...

Ow, I beat them about 8 fights later... Alone. It was ok. I decided to just run past the ghosts and Darkwraiths to the fog gate.

nicely done. and my character still has 10 vit so I am interested to see quite how thoroughly I get smacked down... I suspect I will be summoning phantoms when the time comes...

I had 15 vitality, with no mask, ring, or any health upgrades from items. I had Estus to 20... Doesn't matter much, if half the hits are one-hit kills.

Indeed. although it really has improved my dodging having so many things drop me in one. mind you at 15 vit I doubt that the mask/ring would have helped...

Probably not. I am an expert of rolling now. Can't touch a 0 poise warrior with average to less defense, ya!

yeah, rolling helps, though in PvE I prefer a shield as well so I know I have a fallback

My white and red round shield people are surprised when they hit my shield, and the block is a success.

Hehe I dont know about 0 poise since I love armour of thorns for PvE but yeah! Ive always prefered the heater shield myself... something about 100% physical soak

I picked a tiny shield for my large, curved hook sword. My server... goes well with the leeching concept, in which it gives me HP, while my power within is active or not. Great sword. The shield? Looks awesome on my babe and her nun cap and red gloves. Very mistress like, eh?

Yay more love for the server! my first slab was used on that weapon ! and nice I dont think I am quite confident enough to go for appearence in my builds... someday someday.

Someday, you will. Appearance beats efficiency any day, eh?

@OP I believe I would have just bled all over the floor until I finished the fight! No way would I wanna do that over again!

Do you know where the holy armour for the cleric is in the catacombs? If you are female, the helmet is a nun cap.
