might have been a dark moon blade invader who glitched on entry into a goldy, it happens on occasion and being a dmb would explain the lvl difference.

its not intentional but occasionally invading phantoms glitch and show up as helpful phantoms (no one knows why) as for the level dark moon blade invaders (blue ones) can invade with little to no level restriction (lvl 120 could invade a lvl 20 etc), this phenomina is most common in anor londo it seems or at least thats where the most reported incidences are ...
