I think I just got lucky, but then again I've done 2 playthroughs on it and I still haven't been killed by him (though he's come VERY close lots of times)

Maybe when I want a challenge I'll do a PBWT playthrough, I'll duplicate lots of stones of emphiral eyesso I can keep it like that, would be uh, 'challenging' methinks :|

i forgot about that dupe glitch. i should do that too it sounds fun. ive never done a sl1 playthrough of demons souls either( i think it would be much more difficult then dks). i think thats one of the major differences. at low lvl demons souls is much harder then dks at low level but at high level demons is easier imo.


i never had trouble with flamelurker either, i died more jumping down using that shortcut then i did fighting him. i think the armored spider actually gave me more trouble until i learned how to deal with its attacks. i later learned you can pretty much stand back with a bow and cheese that boss...

I got Allant first try with Melee, and solo.
Flamelurker only put up a fight because I ran out of Grass

^ This whole difficulty conversation is (or should be) based on the presumption that we're playing solo.Even I will acknowledge that these games are easy if you're summoning help. Don't get me wrong co-op is great. But players should try it solo first and please don't claim the game/a boss is easy if you're summoning help.

As regards Demon Souls I was also really talking about melee builds. A pure mage will slice through DeS like a hot knife through butter. But I think the vast majority of players don't use a mage on their first playthrough.

You don't actually see many pure mages doing co-op at all and I presume that is because they don't need the help.

I think the online aspect negates the overpowered magic somewhat because mages are pretty weak in PvP IMO. Or maybe I just can't make them work ...

But in PvE yeah it was too powerful in DeS and the way you could upgrade Pyromancy in DkS was ludicrous - free magic for everyone!!
