Empty Chest in Gwyn's Tomb

So, I'm not sure if this is the right place for this thread--move it if it's not, please. Thank you.

I also apologize if this has been discussed before, but I've only just defeated 'dolin for the first time a few days ago, on NG+. I was sad when I found out one of the chests in the tomb was empty. Has it been discussed as to why/what goes there?

That chest contains the Maiden Robes if you haven't been to the dukes archives before.

Okay... On this playthrough, I hadn't been to the Duke's Archives. So it doesn't matter if it's NG+ or what? If you've been there in NG it will always be empty from thereon forever?

I believe so, or it will guaranteed be empty if you have BB Glitched normally or if you have the Maidens Robes already.

I don't think this is right. I killed dolin with a character who wasn't BB'd, hadn't been yo dukes, didn't have maidens and that chest was empty.

I onced killed Gwyndolin before even getting the Lordvessel. The chest was empty.

damn? Im the only one who has ever gotten Maiden Robes out of that chest?? Odd.

I always get the Maiden's Robes by dropping off the platforms in the jail in the Duke's Archives. :suspect:

I actually don't think I've gotten the maiden robes either, now that I think about it. I only thought I did, but I was actually a little too afraid to make that leap, bahahah. Oh, back when I was supernoob at DkS...

So, what gives with that chest then?

There is a set of Brass armor in one chest. That's for you. There's an empty chest that may have had another set. That's for her.

Smart theory. but 100% wrong, the darkmoon knightess is mortal is she not? no mortal can set foot in the tomb, it is blasphemy.

That may be, but she's also the head Blade of the Darkmoon (I think so anyway). Maybe Gwyndolin made an exception from her or took it out of the chest and gave it to her for her service. Also, the description from the wiki:

Armor of the Darkmoon Knightess, Fire Keeper of Anor Londo.
After becoming undead, she visited the Dark Sun Gwyndolin at the Mausoleum of the Spiral Depths, became a Blade of the Darkmoon, and assumed the flame-keeping duty. She received this armor, which hides her hideous form and helps her hunt the guilty.

I mean, it makes sense, and I think I've heard that speculation before in my own research, but I dunno. I feel like it's just an excuse for FROM to put it there and try to throw us off the scent. But then again, I don't know what on earth they would put in there. And they didn't HAVE to put it there just to show us "Oh, yeah, that's where she got her armor too."

I also think that the three chests ought to represent the three children of Gwyn so maybe it was something from Gwynevere? The Brass armor is from Gwyndolin to the Knightess (both have to hide their forms) the Sunlight Blade is from the first-born, and Gwynevere who left Anor Londo perhaps took her memento with her or never left one at all.

I have never seen maidens robes at that chest...

Maybe it's empty because Gwynevere is gone

Perhaps, if whatever was there did belong to Gwynevere, it was a pendant.

The chest behind Frampt is there so if you drop an item that's vital to the game you can recover it. Wouldn't want to fight T4K without the Covenant of Artorias, now would we?
