Quelaag's Furysword or Uchi +15??

Hi all,

I don't have my stats to hand just now, but I'm working on a DEX build character and unsure which blade to use as my main weapon.

I have both Quelaag's Furysword [QFS] (up to +4 if memory serves) and Uchi +10, which I'm aiming to get to +15 once I've acquired the Very Large Ember.

Sure, the QFS *looks* great and all that, but does the Uchi+15 dish out more damage? I'm pumping points into DEX at the moment, and *think* I've got it to about 40 at the moment (SL 70 ish)..

You could also stop pumping dex now. anything over 40 is not worth it. Unless you’re going to be using magic/pyro. If so then you could go to 45, for the casting speed.

Thanks DG - I need to get familiar with that character planner thing. Looks like I'll be aiming for +15 Uchi then

EDIT: Thanks to SpurGun also - I'll leave my DEX at 40 then, thanks for the tip. Should I now split between VIT and END??

+15 uchi. Then buff it. Even if you're using gold pine resin, it's still more powerful than quelaag's sword

The only issue would be split damage. Quelaag's furysword looks positively badass.

Queelags is cool and at lower levels doesnt suffer from the split damage as much I belive due to the unbalanced split, also does anyone know why it does so little on a BS?

Quelaags Furysword is cooler though. I like the fire effect.

Q. furysword is amazing when 2h. I started using it as a backup weapon on my pure pyre toon but i used the sword more often than the pyros. It is a lot faster when 2h and has a wide arc, even if it doesn’t have as much range as i would want it to.

Guess I need to be aiming for 40 DEX, and I'm guessing 22 END could be improved upon...any pointers greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Forgot to add, I'm just thinking about PvE at the moment...PvP is not something I've gotten into....yet.

I say Quelaag's, because it has a much wider arcing sweeps. Katana's are pretty linear so it's a more focused attack (seems good on paper, but then you find out that damage is the same from ANY angle) Also, you can dead angle with Quelaag's r2s.

Now that your Dex is already 37, you can use most Dex weapons +14, I say put the uchi in main hand and put Queelag's Sword as a backup weapon

Thanks for all the help guys - it seems Uchi gets most people's vote, so I'll focus on using that as my main, with QFS as backup.

Also, I've seen the term "dead angle" mentioned a few times...can someone explain what this means? I will go and search the site for an explanation, honest 8)
