Expansion of the Covs

Leaders of the covenants. We are gathered here today to plan our expansion. Our current forum is at its limit of the members we have willing to join covenants. We need to look outwards for new members. Post you rideas here so we can review them. The current methods we have looked at are -

Youtube
Wikidot forums
Reddit or the like
Dark Souls official site forums

Current Plan
We we currently plan on making a youtube video featuring all of the active covenants, putting in some quotes and lore over the top. It will be advertised on Amos's youtube channel. Any help in deisgning it will be welcome.

Hrm, reddit has a fairly active community from what I understand and I very much feel that youtube would be useful if we had the whole forums output gathered together.
We need to be careful when attempting to expand however as there can be some real morons on the web.

as i said earlier we need a stable PR campaign, anyone able to make vids and stuff should target youtube with a promo video for your related covenant, dough and viral would be best writing lore and having it reach a wider audience

@Dan Sun once tried to get interest going on GameFaqs. We decided to never try there again so I know what you mean.

I'd be happy to write lore for the covenants as well. It'd be a nice change of pace vs just reading what's already been made >_>

Also with the new DLC we may have some pc players who would be interested so thats an entirely new platform to work on

Preparetodie.com forums. although they are fast dying out... also dont make too much of it lore centric. its cool, but it isnt everyones thing and we dont want to put them off thinking we dont have events too

like i said to dough originally we need to come up with a strong plan one we can all agree on, and then implement it it would be in everyones benefit to work together on this so leave all grudges at the door

We need to find a balance between lore and advertising. While we have some good writers here anymroe than a paragraph is going to put people off. Thats why i think youtube is the way to go. We hcan video us fighting in a war, read some lore over the to of it, good music and insert some choice quotes throughout the video.

I vote for dough's idea!

i can use my PR skills from doing band work for years so if anyone wants to piece together some things for me to send out across the globe i shall gladly jump on that

Hmm, If we are having it as a wiki wide youtube account (all the covenants represented) I think we should probably stick a few video's explaining how to do things. if the channel is a useful resource people are more likely to look at it.

YouTube is kind of no-man's land. I don't think it's the ideal place for user cov recruitment.

The other 3 are great though.

I know Joe and broke have accounts. Joe's already done some youtube vids and broke posts his hunting vids. I know he might not like it but we could ask Martyr. And theres always the choice of asking ENB although this is the most unlikely.

yeah wel joe would be one of our best choices as he is well known amongst us, we still need to wait for Viral and the POLG leaders to have there say

If you could get ENB to lend his support/approval that would have our Wiki explode.

It would be hard though, though I imagine with enough persistence he probably would acquiesce.

I can do the youtube advertisements.

if you choose to do that amos can you do one for each group so its not biased?
