Well, it was very simple for me to take the four kings down,
just equip full havels with fathers mask, grass crest shield, havels ring and your best 2h meele weapon (i did with a +15 greatsword)
the meele attacks of the four kings doesnt do much damage and the magics are easy do dodge, usually the 4kings give you space for healing
obs: go with a 20 estus flask for this, since you are going to tank every single meele hit of them

I'm not a big fan of the tank method... 80% of his attacks are dodgeable really what you need is near infinite stamina to just keep hitting or great combustion spam is awfully effective...
