I tried to watch an episode. Still don't understand/particularly like it but feel strangely... motivated. to do good in the world. it's almost the same feeling I get from engaging in jolly co-operation.

I dont want to associate myself with "Bronies" because of the mental image I receive is rather unpleasant. But yeah I like this show and the characters, especially Fluttershy and Twilight Sparkle, I would have the icon of Fluttershy but its not correct. (my nickname to a few friends is now Fluttershy too)

Agreed. I'm not afraid to call myself a fan of the show, but I'd rather not label myself as a brony. Negative connotations, and honestly do I really need to label myself for simply watching a show? Do you see me going around calling myself a "dark bro?" No, of course not!

It's supposed to engender a sense of belonging and togetherness, but, the problem with such things is that they can sometimes backfire and foment an "us vs. them" position which can turn off the neutrals which is bad for us. The haters will hate regardless, so their opinion really isn't worth the sound waves it travels on.

I thought kids today were into other things like "My Marriage to a Teenage Robot" or whatever all these new shows are and, well, "My Little Pony," I wouldn't have thought that Dennis the Menace would still be culturally relevant.
