I just didn't think this particular character was still culturally relevant. You'll all have to forgive me, I'm an old man, I used to think that Windows '95 was technology at its zenith. Basically, Mr. Wilson and I are kindred spirits.

No offense intended. Honestly.

Re: Brony Thread
That "love and tolerance" crap makes me go all "Huh?" on people who think My Little Pony preaches it. Man, characters openly despised Trixie and Gilda, amongst other characters.
It's not like the 90's, where shows tried to convey the message of "If the other guy irks you the wrong way, IT'S YOUR PROBLEM. HE IS INNOCENT."
It's more like "Hey, it's fun to have friends. But don't even bother with jerks; not worth it!."
I think those that constantly refer to themselves as brony are just looking for some attention; the same way the guy who constantly posts creepy stuff about his pet spider on Facebook does.
Also, it's like the word "Troper" here on the Internet. "Brony" has just too many negative connotations - "clapping" anyone?
Yeah, I'm just a few years older than Wade here, and I know of Dennis the Menace. If only because of the crappy dubbing it had here.

I'm old enough to feel old, that's all that matters. Even within my own age group some of my more nostalgic references are wasted.

You should look at the ideas of history more... you will feel like a newborn in the end, I promise... Perhaps even a fetus.
Well, some do anyways... others prefer movement and freedom.

My family says I was born 80, makes sense to me, Im really uptight about alot of things.
I heard of Mr. Wilson but I think Wilson from Home improvement is better. (Wilson Wilson)
So Wade, do tell, do you tend to hide your face behind a fence? Maybe you prefer the Fencepost shield and constantly have it up?
I think it is the "attention craving" bunch that ruins things. This can apply to any cliche though, Goths, prissy pricks (composed purely of attention seekers) jocks, nerds, theres always some that choose it just to call themselves that, not because they agree.

I don't hide behind anything. And yes, it's the attention seeking that ruins everything. It just affects the pony-loving community so badly since theres millions of us, and the public image is based off the few weirdo attention seekers.

Three Milion? is that greater than 5% of American population?
"Well, IIRC, america has over 200 million... so no."
That's disappointing, I was going to post something about Saturday night Live with Conan. Awww

He didn't say "three" he said "there's" I actually don't know if there are any official figures calculating the numbers of the fandom.

Bronies are just the male teenager/adult fans as far as I am aware. I still don't understand why any bloke likes watching colourful ponies dance around a screen preaching about friendship, but each to his own. I just find it hard to grasp still that their might even be hundreds of thousands.
I'm also still trying to figure out if bronies actually do like the show, or if they're just saying they do in order to troll us all.

You show me a fifteen year old watching a children's show about ponies, I'll show you a forty year old man in his underwear with a toy lightsaber making sound effects with his mouth. We all have our weird interests, some of us just aren't forty yet.

Those sit on the corner of my desk next to my computer. You'll notice that each one has been stylized so that their manes, while not perfect recreations, more resemble what they look like in the show as opposed to how they look out of the box. And if you decide to look into it, you'll notice that the big one in the middle only comes in a group set of 3 figures, meaning I have at least 1 extra figure somewhere else in my room. I'll let you decide if I'm a Brony just to troll or not
EDIT: Oh, and females can be Bronies too, but they also have the optional title of Pegasister

And some people think "Sci-Fi" is a cool term, but that doesn't stop some hardcore fans of the genre for hating it
