Does the SKS do extra damage to invaders? I know there is some contention about Divine doing more damage to blue/red phantoms, and Occult doing more the white/gold phantoms. Also, as the SKS only does physical damage with the Divine being passive, I wasn't sure...

The holy modifier doesn't effect invaders, I remember it being tested on this forum. I'm not even sure that it has one anymore, wasn't that patched out?

You're thinking of the Silver Knight Straight Sword, which used to have lightning damage. The Spear still has the Divine damage on it.

It can kill the skellies? I never noticed it. Anyway, there's still no damage difference for Occult/divine on different types of phantoms.

Yeah, it definitely still has the Divine modifier. So it won't deal extra damage, for sure? Seems rather underwhelming them; I'm fitting an offhand spear into my Quality build (amazing build by the way!). With 40 Dex and Strength it's only doing 377 AR, whilst the Pike does 416, and has better reach :shock:

Some people prefer it. I like the 16 str requirement over the pikes 24, as it works perfectly with my Ornstein cosplays stats when Im using him as a knight.

Yeah, it's light, has a great reach, perhaps even better than the pike, and a 1h r2 that swings the spear in a circle. Not that great, but all the BK and SK weapons start out strong but have underwhelming scaling.

Only time I use that blasted Silver Knight Spear is in the Catacombs.
A +10 divine pike would have a higher damage output, but a dead skeleton's a dead skeleton.
I think the common recommendation for an off-hand spear is the Demon's Spear.

Meh, with 80 combined points in strength and dex, I'll stick to non-split damage :p
Damage - they're great for keeping backstab fishers at bay, and for getting some pokes in against the wog spammers when youre not positioned correctly for a roll bs. For those reasons I think its a really legitimate offhand weapon choice for non-magic builds. Imo, its also easier to dead angle a turtling spear user with it in the offhand as well.

I know that. I wouldn't suggest nerfing them because they sucked. Like a lot of other people, I struggle against the spear/DWGR/Grass shield combo. And since it's basically easymode it's not uncommon to run into that setup.

Well, as everyone always says 'everything has a counter', and an offhand spear is a helluva an effective counter for far cheaper tactics. But, yes I find those turtles tricky as well, even more so because they p me off so I get impatient.
