Meaning of names in Dark Souls...

Anyone thinks that there might some sort of meaning hidden inside any name of any location or character in Dark Souls? Like LORDRAN for example, everytime I think of the name I came up with the following:
- The LORD RAN this land.
True, isn't it? The Gods used to run the land but as we all know, their influences have been getting weaker and weaker.

- The LORD RAN away.
Also true to some degree, right? Gwynevere ran off to who-knows-where with Flann. The firstborn is banished and who knows where he ran off to now. Velka still seems like a relevant character, but who know where she is now. Also, the heck happened to Gwyn's wife?

Well, I don't know. Maybe I'm on to something or maybe it's just my head going bonkers after running around Lordran for so long without even knowing what I'm doing anymore...

...or maybe names just aren't that important ;D

Well, shiva of the east could be named after shiva, the hindu god of destruction. Also, vamos means something like 'go away' or 'let's go' in spanish.

Apparently Artorias translates to Arthur in Olde English or something.

Lautrec is French, I don't know what it means, but I seen it on a painting once.

Domnhall is apparently inspired by Irish names like O' Donovon etc.

Also, the was a lady 'Guinevere' in the 'times of Arthur and his knights of the round table.'

Vamos means "Let's go" in spanish, that's right.

I don't know how that translates into a grumpy skeleton blacksmith, though.

The first part of SOLaire is a reference to the Sun, too. That's way more direct.

Andre means strong or manly, there's more in the linking lore thread like Ciaran

I also know that Sif was some sort of significant entity in Norse mythology thanks to Marvel. Some folks believe Sif to be male but I think the name gave it away right away. That aside, the name obviously didn't add any significant meaning to Dark Souls...

And then you've got Havel.
