    Power Within Empty Power Within

Post by RandelOolacile Mon Aug 06, 2012 2:36 am

What weapons are affected by power within?

I always thought all attacks were boosted, but now I'm not so sure. I was using a fire great schythe +5 earlier and my attacks seemed unaffected. Or at least my AR didn't reflect a change. I tested this on an enchanted broadsword +7 and the AR clearly reflected a change. The only reason I can see this happening is because of scaling. Maybe it is that weapons affected by scaling are boosted, otherwise AR stays the same?

An insight is appreciated! big grin

As far as I know, all of your damage increases by 40%.

I thought this as well. I could be off or maybe I was seeing things. I'll test with a few more weapons and post what I find. happy

How quickly does it drain your HP?

I know what I did. I didn't take into account red tearstone. The power within doesn't reflect an AR difference, but the damage is increased. Red tearstone, when activated does reflect a change. I think it kicked it when I was looking at the broadsword. Alright, crisis averted! silly

Really? That doesn't sound too bad. I might be tempted to try it out for the first time in my life.

It drains 1% of your health per second, and it lasts 100 seconds.

Clarification, pw does not boost your ar, but adds 40% to the damage your attack did after their defense is factored.

Yep. Much better than just boosting the AR.

With high damage stuff yes, for example my dgms damage would go up by about 300 with 40 faith and dmb, where power within would only add 200, however with a bs dmb would still only add the 300 damage, where pw would add 400 if I'm not using the hornets ring. (we'll pretend the dgm bs only hits once for the purposes of the explanation, so lurks get the idea if they're newer)

Make sure you use a base Pyro glove. It drains the least life when Power Within is activated.

Lingering Dragoncrest Ring also slows the hp drain and makes power within last longer.
