^ I should have known someone was going to upload Finntroll in this thread. Great band though, but I prefer Korpiklaani.

Re: The Metalhead Thread
@grin Ehhhhhh. Its depressing, not just the lyrics (which wouldn't bother me,) but the music itself. Not really my thing I guess.
I don't enjoy emotional music for the most part, depressing or otherwise.
Alestorm is awesome.

Oh that is some badass metal you have there.
Seeing as you are a fan of progressive metal, do you listen to any progressive death metal?
If you are I give you this:

Re: The Metalhead Thread
As a second generation and 15 year drummer, I have to get in on this thread
.
I've seen reference to Iron Maiden, Led Zep, Ra, In Flames, etc etc etc. All are among my favorites. If I had to pick a single band, Iron Maiden would have to be it. Modern day equal for my preference, In Flames. Although picking a single band is like picking a single movie, its impossible and all depends on the mood. But, just saying respect to everyone thats mentioned some of the bands I've listed etc
On a side note, Trivium does a cover of "Iron Maiden" title song, its the best I've heard, besides the origional of course

Re: The Metalhead Thread
My favorite genre of metal is old school thrash, but I like pretty much every kind of metal. Stratovarius is a great symphonic/power metal band, "Dreamweaver" and "Elements" are two favorites of mine from them. Overkill's "The Years of Decay" album is brilliant, as is Death Angel's "The Ultra-Violence" album, back from when saying "ultraviolence" was a Clockwork Orange reference. Sabbat is a great band, their first two albums were awesome.
