DarkSouls For PS3 or 360 ?

I've just beaten Demon Souls last night & was planing on buying Dark Souls today , but I noticed it was for 360 & PS3 :arrow: , Does the system matter as controller wise or is it the same for both ?

or is it the same game for both 360 & PS3 ?

I have Dark Souls for both consoles and I can tell you they're the same game. Same loading times, same graphics, same items and everything. The only difference between the two is the way the online will work. Xbox has significantly less people on it probably just because a lot less people knew about Demon's Souls and so didn't know how good Dark Souls would be. Xbox does have one "advantage" (and I use advantage loosely), the miracle resonance points don't seem to work on PS3 where as on Xbox, I see them everywhere. That's really not an advantage and I would still recommend getting it on PS3 because there's a bigger community and you'll be able to get more out of online play (also less hackers on PS3 I believe).

My only advice would be to try and do your first run through as blind as possible. I resorted to the wiki about 3 hours into my first playthrough and I really regretted it. Just try to get through the game using your Demon's knowledge and if you get really stuck, come to the forums and we'll try to help you without spoiling anything

Bart is on the money, as blind as possible is always the best way to go. It'll give you the richest experience, as well it will make you feel like you really earned your way through the game. And as he said, there are more players on the PS3. At the same time, if you are in America that might give you some better connections for the Xbox version. Because on PS3, you'll find many japanese players and other players from around the world, while Xbox is bigger in more western areas so you'll probably have a better connection with other players.

Im going to vouch for 360 just for the simple fact of better communication between players. The whole msg and chat system on PS3 is lacking, where as 360 allows a much more entertaing multiplayer experience. after a blind run of course

Go for the PS3 mate, there's roughly 3 times the amount of PS3 players as xbox players according to sales figures. It's a no brainer really I think if you wanna use the online play to it's fullest.

I've played it on both though, so if you can only find it on xbox, no real loss, the PvP and coop still works there and everything else is exactly the same, it's just the online not quite as prolific.

And PS3 has the sixaxis thingy for the gestures

^How does that even work. I just got this game for PS3 yesterday and was all excited for easier gestures, but no matter how much I flail my controller around, nothing happens :|

Hold the X button and then wiggle the controller around.

I've never used the sixaxis gesture thing, I prefer to use hte 'select' method..

Well... FROM did not intend drs to have chat and i think this spices up the co-op part of the game... Also and this is my biggest let down there are modders on the xbox version... i have both consoles but i decided to get Drs on my PS3 due to the fact DeS was on it and i knew there would be more players there, i would go for the PS3 but you do as you want...

as long as you buy it for the PS3 of course
