No, you cannot buff it without glitching. The Dragonbone Fist, and the Dragon's Tooth can be buffed though.

You can buff Dragon King Greataxe, but not the greatsword.

I was talking about the Drake Sword, I didn't see your second question until after. I haven't tried buffing the DKGA myself, so I'd take Wyrm's word for it.
