Can i please have a step by step on how to duel a friend using the Red Sign Soap Stone ?

been having major issues with this and have NEVER had this work for me. Any help would be appreciated

One of you needs to have the boss alive...let's say that's you...then you would be the 'host'...your friend needs to go to were you are in his world and put down his red sign...because your boss is alive you will see his sign and be able to summon him!

First of all, are you two nearly the same SL, and where are you trying to connect?

The RSS (red soap stone) won't work in New Londo until you have drained the water, and although the RSS can be used to summon phantoms without much level restriction (a level 150 can summon a level 120, but a level 120 could NOT summon a level 150.) it usually works faster (and is easier to remember) if you're in the 10+10% range.

Step one: make sure you and the person you want to do are both human, you cannot see red soap stones unless you are un-hollowed.

You can see if you are hollow or not by checking the number near your health and stamina bar, if the background is white:human, or grey:hollow.

Step two: Have one person place their souls sign, you cannot both place it or neither of you will not see it.

Step 3: Be patient and wait about 5-10 minutes. If nothing shows up have the person who placed pick their sign up and cancel then redrop their sign 3 times (this is my personal trick, I don't think its tested.. but it seems to work for me. However, it may not be necessary.)

Step Four: thats really all there is to it. If you still face problems try moving to another area, and make sure you haven't killed the boss if you are trying to summon. If you want to be the invader then it doesnt matter.

Summary: The boss needs to be alive in the HOSTS world and Both parties need to be human. Some areas do not work until you've unlocked something in the level (ex newlondo) and only the host can summon a vastly LOWER leveled phantom, but its easier to stay in the proper range (10+10% of your level)

A dried finger may also help to summon(host) , spam it couple times aswell

Having done alot of trading with the RSS, I agree with Yukon, with 1 small change..... Get the host to spam(3-5 times) their wss, then cancel and wait 30 seconds while looking for the RSS, repeat till you spot them.

1. Put down the sign.
2. Pray.
3.?????
4. Profit.

So it IS possible for me to trade with higher SL people, as long as they're the one's summoning?

Yes, but it can be time consuming and rather difficult to connect, both parties must be human and the higher level must summon the lower level through red soap stone, so pick a low frequency area, and good luck.
