So...Grant...

Finally getting close to finishing my Leeroy build, and I finally had enough strength to 2 hand Grant...and the results were....underwhelming....

The weapon does good damage, but for how heavy and slow it is, I was expecting more, the 2 handed R2 is just awesome though.

Switched to using a Dragon Greatsword, and found that MUCH more to my liking, I'll probably keep the DGS on me at all times and just use Grant for RPing purposes.

Yeah the grant may seem like an awesome weapon at first but other than the 2H special attack it is really slow and not really worth the trouble. The DGS however is pretty good. Its damage is good and if you are good with big swords than it will work for you.

I also find the Zwei to be an ok sword especially upgraded with lightning or fire. You could also try the moonlight greatsword if your intel is up.

Split damage should be higher. My 40 faith Grant gets ~715 AR. If it were 800~900 AR it would be awesome. A 650 AR Great Club +15 deals much more damage, weight less, have lower stat requirements and with 30 Faith can be buffed with SLB/DMB for +1000 AR.

It's still an amazing weapon, one of my favorite weapons of DkS. I love its design.

Grant is not worth the stat requirements unfortunately. It's a cool and different weapon, but just not worth it.

Yeah, the Grant's not worth it as some above have said. I really like how the striking face of the weapon has become so smoothed down though, as if Leeroy had bashed in so many skulls over the centuries his weapon wore down to that point. The underside of the hammer part is probably what it originally looked like, which is a nice touch. With 50 Str and 40 Faith it just doesn't do enough damage for its size because of split AR. I could make a lightning Great Club which will deal more damage, what's more lightning damage, in split AR and only need 28 Str.
