I'd recommend going back for your exp you dropped.

I get up from the bonfire and have a look around the corner to see if the crossbow undead and his companions have respawned as expected.

Just as before, i try to lure out the closest soldier without catching the attention of the other one by making a sound subtle enough so hopefully only he will hear it.

The hollow soldier runs around the corner after your noise, before he can react you slam your axe into his side, it raises it's shield and begins combat with you.

With my shield up, I walk out of the room and try to lure the other hollow soldier back into the room (edit):up the stairs where the repeater can't hit me.

I'm not sure what to do with your last post, can you explain better?

With my shield up, i walk out of the room that has the bonfire in it, and I try to lure the second hollow soldier back to the bonfire room, up the stair, where the hollow repeater cannot shoot me.

I walk out with my talisman at hand ready to use force when the repeater shoots at me, hoping that it will reflect and kill the hollow repeater.

well no point going back for the souls now.

i would love to try and get our hands on the black knight armour, but that might be too hard considering how difficult these hollows are

yea, unless we figure out the most effecient way to get past the enemies, or we farm for souls...carefully, level up to a mediocre level then kick some booty.

The repeater fires an arrow at you, right as you cast force. The arrow flies off harmless into the distance... at least we hope it was harmlessly.

I guess, since getting it may will waste quite some time. However if we use a crossbow we might be able to loot extra bolts off the corpses of crossbow wielding hollows. I don't think there's a lot of those around though, anyone remember how many of those there are in undeadburg?

Using crossbows? Only two.

Two, however you know at least one of them is shooting explosive bolts at you, so if you can manage to kill them without flinging them off the ledge, you could probably get quite an interesting source of ammo.
