I found a clever farmer last night. I was standing at the bottom of the ladder to see if WoG would knock someone off and sadly this guy knew that he could jump down at another spot. They're evolving hunters! AAAAAHHHHHHHHH

Yeah - skare fighting in the forest is pretty much a cold war type of deal. We evolve, they evolve, we get big guns they get bigger guns. That is why I love it cause the war may never end - Alvina has mentioned she does not mind "mutually assured destruction" measures as long as the forest is cleansed of trespassers.

We just have to keep using that tool between our two shoulders to show we have the "minerals" - to fight the good fight.

I need to stop raving like a lunatic and evolve. This cold war is leaving me out in the....um...cold..I guess.

Re the wifi debate I missed, that's what I use and it doesn't make a difference. I tested both that and a landline and I still get lagstabbed like crazy by the japanese folks. They do seem to have an advantage in that, I often watch videos of japanese players and when they go up against Americans you can see that they have a 0.5 to 1 second headstart. The american players are always swinging after the japanese player rolled away, strafing the wrong spot, casting spells in the wrong direction etc. I usually stop playing around 12 ET for that reason, unless I'm cooping.

I usually don't get a chance, but I noticed that about 2-4 pm my local time there is a big influx of German players. It's really cool but comes and goes pretty quickly.

Befowler - it's not your end that is the issue - it's either theirs or the network (i.e. Internet) path in between. Also, since Americans and Japanese are basically on the opposite ends of the Earth think of all the network hops in between you and your Japanese opponents need to facilitate the peer-to-peer session (remember DkS does not use a central server for multiplayer sessions). If Sony/PSN or Microsoft/XBOX truly wanted to get rid of the network path latency they would use a service from a company like Akamai, which would allow them to serve multiplayer content (by dropping in specialized servers at Akamai points of presences (PoPS) scattered all around the globe to optimize the DkS traffic) more efficiently. Now your opponent could still use an out-dated wireless access point or lag switch to introduce lag at the source - you can't do nothing about this.

I just know a little about networking and content delivery type stuff.

Well people I just had my once a week quota of running into mod toon in the forest. I should have BC'd out as soon as I saw a constant almost full health bar over his head and no freaking shirt!! I am mad my PVR froze so I did not capture on tape. He's holding a MLGS sword so we just dance a little bit, we trade blows, he throws a couple of magic blast waves, I dodge. Then I catch him up against the rock wall hiting him 5-6 times unlocked with my Mura - I'm talking solid stun-locking shots. His HP never decreases one little bit :x !! After I run out of steam :shock: its his turn - he hits me a couple of times I roll away barely alive then decided "I refuse to be beaten by freaking mod toon" - so I committed suicide off the cliff (could have tried BCing out but he was too close).

I PM the guy saying "Nice mod toon - why are you doing what you are doing?". He PMs me back with the usually profanity and big man talk. He also said he enjoyed the souls I gave him so I PM him back "WTF???. Why does a mod toon need souls?". Then I just blocked his PMs and reported him to MS.

This is the only real issue I have with DkS (freaking mods :evil: !!!!!) - this would be the only reason why I stop playing this game.

Mod toons need souls to keep them company. What a sad state you'd have to be to feel good about doing that.
