Yeah - that is what I was thinking. I don't think the level of competition is as high on the XLN mainly due to the Japanese origins of the game (and also the fact the PS3 is ubiquitous in Japan).

Yeah - those lag stabs are crazy. I got lag stabbed like across the forest by this one guy. I was like what in the world. That technique, glitch, network delay/poor Internet or whatever makes for a difficult invasion usually resulting death for me. I did have one farmer admit he used WiFi (instead of a hard-wired Ethernet connection)for the lag effect advantage - similar to the effect when people use lag switches for an edge :evil: .

I use wifi (it's as close to the modem as possible, but it's still out of reach because it's in the roof (very crappy tech idea))

The farmer I'm talking about was using a wireless access point with poor/out-dated radio in it (think of it as poor man's lag switch). If your wifi is relatively modern and close (within the radio's tolerances) to your console then it should not cause network delay or lag from your opponents perspective. You probably have decent wifi router/switch with current radios. People are looking for any advantage they can get in game - morals and ethics are thrown to the wolves by many.

Yeah, I think mine's decent, though sometimes I have connection issues randomly it just means I have to wait it out before invading.

And that's why we have a tactics thread, for while they rely solely on less than moral ideas, we prefer to use the world to our advantage, but I know I can't help but get my hands a bit dirty sometimes cleaning out the forest. The farmers do track mud all over after all.

I'm glad to have a moral high ground over griefers. But I do love griefing griefers, so I guess I'm a double griefer of sorts.

That is where the "Enemy of my enemy is my friend" concept applies - you are kinda like a anti-sniper. You use a sniper to hunt and kill a sniper.

Course, when I was the anti-sniper in S4, I would use stealth, sneak into the enemy base, and wreck the poor camper fool in melee and a revolver to the head

I should probably steer the conversation back in the way of the Forest....

So, the other day I invaded in the forest and spawned next to the stairs, as I was rising I saw three farmers charging at me and attack...I don't know what they were planning, but for the second you are coming in from connecting you are invincible, so they literally all fell to their death with me just standing there. I shrugged in game, then in real life. I looked skyward in game, then in real life. I ate a taco in real, sadly I could not do that in game. What am I to do in this day and age? All I know how to do is devise ways to kill farmers, but these new self-killing farmers are going to put me out of business. I hate industrialization.

That is crazy - three dudes all suicided themselves at the same time???Priceless!!! The only similar thing which has happened to me is when a farmer panicked near the stairs when I was hitting him with poison knifes and did one roll too many - rolled right of the cliff!

Maybe I should have sent them messages about how life is worth living if they get killed by me instead of gravity?

By the way, little trick with poison. Frankly, if I'm poisoned in PvP unless I'm using PW I really don't care. I have 40 vitality, it really is not much health lost to me. However, you can use this to keep track of people. As long as the host or a summon is taking damage, their health bar is visible to you. Just a little tip since I haven't posted too many lately. I need to strike a new line of oil and get this thing flowing.

I don't ever intend to read all of this but I'll just mention that I now have a Forest Hunter toon, cough, cough, Artorias build.

Seeing as I am still levelling my Artorias Forest Hunter, no! I don't need competition.

Of course, if you are here to kill farmers and keep the forest clean, you're good in my book. You should try and read through it though, in ten years when you finish, you'll be ready to kill some farmers! You'll also be ready to read all of the new posts that will take up another thirty years of your life.

And when they are done our Artorias build will fight in a glorious showdown showing all what the forest was truely all about. Creating the next Artorias.

If you're lucky and facing the right way sometimes the life bar shows when you spawn. I've spotted a dew ambushes this way. I always do a camera 360 when I spawn

Same here, I do the same when I get invaded.

ViralEnsign - welcome to the Alvina's service - we are a group of willy bandits just looking to keep the forest clean. The excitement is never ending - constant ganking, farmer johning (is that a word??? ), bangs, etc .... ad infinitum.
