You know if velkas rapier is good or would i be better off with an estoc? Ie, does the split damage type render the increased ar useless? (think hornets ring)

It scales I think A, or possibly S with Int when fully upgraded, you can poke for a lot of damage as an Int build with it. I might have to take a check when the toon is finished and compare the damages. Maybe even I could carry my Buff weapon first, buff it, then when that runs out switch to Velka's.

at 40 int and 40 dex estoc ar is 322 velkas is 419. i was trying to cut 20 from dex as velkas is still at 396 with 20 dex and 40 int. otherwise i would just use both, though i still suck with rapiers.

Its for randoms so i was trying to stay sl 100 or below. its at sl87 with 45int and 20 dex.

(also toying with armor setups as brass looks distinctively feminine and i like the characters gender to come across in my armor. i've got 29.1 lbs left going for 53 poise and havels looks stupid paired with brass, any suggestions?)

Tsk tsk, men playing as women. I can honestly say I don't play as female characters, but I don't mind feminine looking armor, it sometimes confuses the hell out of people.

If i'm forced to stare at a butt for hours, i'd rather it be female. esp early game, when the best armor is hollow gear.

Though only 2 of my characters are female, other 2 are male.

I don't do a ton of rp in souls, not enough freedom. I prefer to rp in d&d. Writing the character back story is one of my favorite parts. Who they are, why they are who they are, how they process information, how these thing influence they're decisions and reasons for said decisions, I love it. (it takes me twice as long to create a character as anyone else i know)

All i do for souls is a general history, then kill things.

I do it in all games haha, DnD as well when I used to play it. I'm a writer, so it's kind of hard to not do it in a game haha.

I can't presume authority over an in game cov, no individual can. In game covs are associations, and loose ones at that, all i could do is relay majority opinion of those who actually say anything.

In general though, it hardly needs saying. Our enemies are sinners, whomever they may be. We hardly need a spokesperson to make that known.

Hence the poorly worded quantifier, "relay majority opinion of those who actually say anything."

I was refering to the dms active on the forum who also admit to being a dm.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, and I don't believe I saw it explicitly covered in the Wiki, so I wanted to confirm.

The only people that Dark Moons can invade are those who have been indicted. For example we could not invade a DW that was griefing in the burg, because they cannot be indicted since he new player cannot buy the indictment until they beat the boss, which means they can no loger be invaded. Is this correct?

One other question as well - can DMs invade hollows that have been indicted?

Thanks for your help with this. This forum has helped me a ton in the game.

The only ones that can 'invade' Hollows are the Gravelords. If you are Hollow you can see their summon signs and the Black Phantom monsters.

Yes bmurn, you've got it mostly right, we can invade anyone with sin, killing npcs like the undead merchant also opens a player up to dm invasions.

And thats what this thread is for. Ask away.

Just some questions about Darkmoons - If I have sin, say someone indicted me and I get invaded does that sin now go away when the DM kills me? What if I kill the DM? Does it go away then?

Though if you're in the book, my understanding is that your "severity of sin" will go down as dms kill you.

I'll double check and get back to you.

Seems so, the info I have states that each time a dm kills you, the severity of sin drops by one.

Interestingly enough, it also seems that killing pricilla may constitute as sin.

Anyone feel like helping me test that?

I have a toon I'm about to send to the painted world. I can buy the Book of the Guilty, and kill her and see if I get any sin. Then after I can wait for a darkmoon to kill me and see if my Sin goes down at all.

I actually just attacked Priscilla last night. Did not win. sad But assuming I play tonight I can check if I now have sin and then again after I beat her, assuming I do. I know that I did not previously have any sin on my record.

Just beat Priscilla. Checked the book of the guilty and I was not in there. However when I went to see velka I could pay to be absolved.
