Could someone explain the arena to me?

Please?

I'm hearing about brackets and high soul levels and stuff and I'm generally confused.

From what I know so far:

No estus healing
2v2, 1v1, FFA
The player who lands most kills within the time limit wins (draws are possible).
Different types of arenas available.
Fights are organized in brackets of every 50 levels: sl 50, 100, 150, etc...
Immediate respawn after death (spells are also refreshed)

I'm still looking into it, I'm sure I'm missing some info.

I actually enjoy sl 99 far more than 120.

Those 20 levels completely unbalance the system. I think the real ideal level is actually around 80.

And even so, at lower lvl caps people have much more differentiated builds.

The fast builds are actually reflected with less damage and health.

The health gouge builds can't also put out a huge amount of damage.

And if you want to use high damage spells from any tree you need to be built to do just that.

This makes people have alot more hybrid builds where they might be using mid range spells, like great magic weapon, and more general variety.

I like it.

The penalty for more poise is to mid or slow roll. The dwgr made that rule obsolete whichbis why that ring was unbalanced, this will actually make the game more like it's supposed to be from the beginning. It shouldn't affect dex builds much but my str will need to either be dragons or remade to have a little poise since some of them relied on the dwgr to much. This also means that gankers will have o have crap elemental weapon which will make it a lot easier to deal with them since they also got nerfed.

Lol same here, I will only make one build for the arena and that will be my high sl build.

Once you pick Yiure weapon and are good with it and are sl 120, sl doesn't matter much since you'll be putting out the same damage as the other guy no matter how high his sl is, what matter is skill and since vit isn't much if a difference you can still kick some ***, I beat people in the 400's consistently with my sl 120 and I'm not even that good.

Yeah, 150 is so high that you don't have to sacrifice anything on your build, you can just have it all and that makes it just a little boring. Every build should have weakness and strenght and 120 has always been a pretty good lvl for this (I could go for 99 too, but not above 120).

I'm going 200 because it can use the Abyss sword lol.

Abyss sword is pretty badass but why would you do that when you can make a sl99 with tons of vit and end and use the obsidian sword which looks awesome! That thing is probably gonna be the new Bkga and gankers are gonna love it.

Because the Abyss Sword can flip attack. Also the design of it is way cooler.

Fortunately I framing greatswords isnt much harder than I framing BKGA. just gota prefect my fast rolling technique. gankers? pssh.
