We need to do some research [SPOILERS]

So the Calamity Ring, there's no way that the only thing it does is make you take double damage, I don't think they would put something that useless into the game, but then again, they put in the Blue Tearstone Ring. Snuggly won't take it, and I don't really know where else to look, the only other theory I have is that it synergizes with the Ring of the Evil Eye, because eyes are involved with both rings.

The next thing is the Guardian Soul, I'm fanatically searching for a weapon that can be turned into a boss weapon by it. I'm in the process of gathering all non-unique weapons to take to the Giant Blacksmith to see if anything comes up.

We need to research this stuff people, for SCIENCE!

EDIT: Also a proposition: I call for one hit -30SL pre release Black Phantoms for people who cheat/hack. I don't know how they would do it, but it would definitely clean up the online.

Some speculate that with Calamity ring on you can have the harder version of some fights. For example it's possible to fight against 2 Sanctuary guardians (this is confirmed) at the same time if you have the ring on when you re-enter the boss room (I don't believe that you need the ring for this though so someone needs to confirm it).

That is correct, I fought them without the ring equiped.

I'm really quite interest as to how this turns out, judging by the text on the ring i would say you have to take it to a npc, who can then bring out its full power.

i am pretty sure the ring is just the "hardcore, Dante must Die" mode for Dark Souls for players who want a harder PVE challenge

Pssssh 'Dante must Die' was too easy. Make it 'Hell or Hell' mode instead

Dante must die was to easy for DMC4... but for the first DMC and DMC3... oh man

Priscilla, the Everlasting Dragon, and Seath all do not respond to the ring, at least as dragonbro level 2. I was wearing it around the twinkley sounds in The Painted World, and you know what? They were removed. There is no longer a sound of crystal lizards in Painted World. I also did a little light testing, as there are doors you can open with Cast Light/Sunlight maggot (which someone who isn't dragon should wear that everywhere)/Skull Lantern.

Could you try trading the ring with snuggly?

Bcc already tried the ring with snuggly to no avail. I have to say i possibly agree with the idea of it just being in the game to make it harder for us. Were alot of us not asking for a "perma-gravelord" mode? Perhaps this is their answer?

I just did, will not accept the ring, the guardian soul, or Artorias soul. I did find something interesting though. You know how objects in your inventory have a set spot? You drop them, and pick them up, and they remain in the exact same spot on the list? These souls did not do that, and moved around at the bottom of the souls when I picked them up. The Guardian's Soul was actually above all the others at first, now its on the bottom.

in some games cursed items become uncursed after being used in a certain number of fights etc... like in ff6 where a cursed shield would become a super holy shield after a ton of grinding... also have you talked to ingward? hes the curse speacialist after all...

You guys are so slow and sound like Literature Teachers that see more than it actually is. LOL

That ring would have no effect on Karmic Justice, as that triggers on hits and not damage dealt.

try visiting the other game dragons while wearing it, gaping dragon, everlasting dragon, hellkite, Seath, maybe it changes something, if not, you can try searching EVERY SINGLE NPC IN THE GAME and see if it changes anything
