Hey, I've started up a new User covenant and I dunno how to officially start it up, I was thinking if there is any guidelines or things I must do first.

Well first I would say what is your angle. How will your members play> What makes your group unique or more fit to take on anyone elses territory, who will be your members and how will you recruit them.

Check the current listings of User Covenants in the sticky above.

Most obvious ideas are taken though. You could also join another user cov to see how things operate before making your own.

It is a large task breaking the membership barrier.

The Gravesworn would have failed if Fed hadnt assumed current leadership.

Well, the covenant I had in mind was something like the sunlight bros with darkmoon worked in using in-game covenants. Basically helping people and trading sunlight medals and reprisals for equipment with the covenant leaders, nothing too overpowered, maybe longswords +10 or something. But generally its to help people out by summoning and punishing invaders or 'keeping a balance'

Now currently in the SUnbro and Moonbro spheres we have the

Noble Knights- The biggest bunch of snarky co opers ever to set foot in Lordran

The Deliverance- Moonbros who invade at high levels

The Brotherhood of the Blade- Mid Range Moonbro Pvpers

These three are the primary competition for you atm. Why not try out some builds/ talk with Dough or Sunlightcrusader about events or something.

Also if you have an SL 55 or 70 build the Gravesworn could use your help on the 8th for the Dukes Archive War!

Winter you gotta make your cov unique. Whether its a lore thing or a mechanical thing there has to be something that distinguishes your cov from the rest. Otherwise it can get forgotten.

Ok, well I was going for a 'keeping the balance' type thing. for example, every covenant has some sort of alignment, with nito or gwyn, I was going for a no allegiance so does not restrict as to what in-game covenant is accepted, but must still follow certain guidelines. The term 'grey' I applied as ambiguous as to what side the covenant sits at, but this is still rough and I have another idea in mind.

A better example would be, say another covenant needs help, we will help, but if later that person we helped is indicted, we will punish him, regardless of who he is. It is basically we keep everything in check. but we don't overly specialize in helping peeps, we sway to the side of a balance.

That sounds like the Lifehunters in a way. But flesh it out and see if people join

I have other ideas, but I will see what I can do.

Dont worry about it. The more variation we have here the more people we can drag into our inane wars for supremacy.

While lots of other User Covs like to think they make the wheels of the covenants section go around.... it basically comes down to the rivaly between the Gravesworn (my user covenant) and the Noble Knights (Doughguy's User cov)....

Oh and If you have an SL 55 or 70 build sign up to the war tomorow on the Gravesworn side and repport to the Dukes Archives for active service AT 12AM UTC!

Like viral said the hardest thing for you is gonna be getting people to join. You need a defined theme and strong leadership. The reputation of the leader is probably the most important thing. You will need to build a good rep within the community. There are already a lot of user covs to choose from, why not join an existing cov and try to rank up building a good rep as you go.

Yeah I used DxV and my figure head. Then built my rep within the community up from there.

Alright I'll get on it. Do you think I could build up rep by being in the covenant? Some of my friends who play have agreed to join

Yeah If you have even three or four members who would post regularly in this thread and organise to invade/ fight one another im sure you will find people to join you easily.

Also think about your alignment of the Covenant if you ever want to get into the war aspecct of this section.

ok, well my alignment would be that of good...I guess, to use lore maybe thorolund since they rally the undead to the north (correct me if I am wrong)
